General Motors Co. has begun to once again contribute to political campaigns, lifting a self-imposed ban on political spending put in place during the auto maker's U.S.-financed bankruptcy restructuring last year.
The Detroit company gave $90,500 to candidates running in the current election cycle, Federal Election Commission records show.
GM Resumes Campaign Contributions The beneficiaries include Midwestern lawmakers, mostly Democrats, who have traditionally supported the industry's legislative agenda on Capitol Hill, including Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), Sen. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) and Rep. John Dingell (D., Mich.).
The list also includes Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor, the House Republican Whip, who would likely assume a top leadership post if Republicans win control of the House in November.

Cantor had better return the donation!
Do not buy GM.
Cantor is an ass.
Since GM is now owned by the people of the US, isn’t this kind of an illegal activity and unconstitutional.
Dingell? You have to put a mirror in front of his face to make sure he is still breathing.
There are so many things wrong with this it’s hard to know where to start.
WHAT? You mean a Government carmaker, Communist in it's makeup, takes a bailout then returns that money to Democrats and Socialists?
Color me shocked.
That would work for humans, his image wouldn’t appear.
Yet another reason why they should have never been given a bailout...It compromises their freedom to speak politically.
Now we are heaving this total waste of money and they are throwing it back to their masters / benefactors....
Tell me there wasn’t a call of some kind to remind them which side is the buttered side. Tell me there wasn’t some kind of quid pro quo back in the original bailout closed door discussions....
I can’t and don’t believe it.

Well, this settles the question as to whether bailout funds are being used for political campaigns.
Is it against the law for a Government owned entity to contribute to political campaigns?.................Fannie, Freddie, GM, Chrysler come to mind...........
GM is a concubine of the Government.
The federal government is donating money to itself via GM. What a shell game!
What's happening now can be explained like this: people go to the bank to make a deposit. When they look through the front door, they see a bank robber stealing the deposits of customers such as AIG, GM and SEIU. The bank robber is screaming that he will start emptying the vault after he's finished stealing all the depositors' money.
Would you walk through the front door? No, you would wait for the robber to leave -- and be sure he won't return before you venture inside.
That robber is Obama.
There can be no doubt that what Obama seeks is to overthrow the Constitutional Republic that we have enjoyed for the past 230+ years.
Look at what we have become in 18 months.
He must be thrilled. Time for some hoops. Time to take a swim. Time for some ice cream. Up yours America.
Liar = Obama.
Cheater = Feds.
Thief = Congress.
Con artist = Piss-Stream Media.
If we do not get this man out of office through impeachment as soon as possible, we might not have a nation by the time 2012 comes around.
Fannie & Freddy do it all the time. In the millions $$.
unions, management and government destroyed gm.
i’ll never buy another american, union-made auto again.
should be illegal
Well it SHOULD be against the law. Especially if the entity was BAILED OUT with taxpayer funds.................
Courtesan is more like it...............
