I called my Senator from Pa. Bob Casey and learned that he voted for this. I told his staff that they will be hearing from me in 2012 when this pos comes up for re-election.

It is common procedural practice for the party leader, on a vote that’s going down to defeat, to vote on the OTHER side. By doing so, the leader preserves his right to bring the bill back for another vote later. He’s not seriously trying to appear to have opposed the bill here.

“Reid was for the Dream Act before he was against it”

Who does Harry think he is John Kerry?

Reid voted against his own bill?

No, his was a procedural vote. By voting against cloture of his own bill he is reserving the ability to bring it back for a vote at a later time.

No, Reid voted for this for the usual reasons: under Senate rules, he can call for another vote simply by declaring that he wants to change his vote.

He would have voted for it, if there has been 59 other votes.

True, but all that will be heard in the Latino community is that he voted against it.

I didn’t know that. Thanks for the information. However, in the short term before his election, he can plausibly deny having voted for it even if he sponsored the amendment.

every republican should now use this on the Dems who voted for this.

They are now on record as saying they want openly serving homosexuals, want illegals to be rewarded etc.

If the GOP does not use this and show the public this voting record then I really do despair.

I hope you are right that the Latino community — by which I mean that unfortunate segment which needs to be coddled along leftist racial lines — will misunderstand and thus be angry with Reid!

Hey you idiot Congress critters! We now have the internet and can find out how you voted withing minutes! Does that scare you? Well, it really should... Things are not going to keep going as you would like them to... You and your vote is now shown to the public. We are very tired of all party voting for the same thing - regardless of their actual beliefs (and of course, we do understand your beliefs). You WILL be held accountable!

Lincoln and Pryor of Arkansas, both Democrats, voted Nay. Lincoln is facing defeat, and Pryor is trying to CYA.

Sorry, it is way too late to try to change your ways Democrats. You have constantly thrown Obama, Polosi, and Reid’s policies into our faces. You can NOT now decide that maybe you made a mistake and decide to vote for your constituents. Really, get a life... Way too late folks!
