My son has taken the ever popular all expense paid vacation to Iraq three times! So have most of his friends.
Why go to Iran when there are 57 states in America they could hike through...

I used that until recently, when I discovered "moslem" is disgraceful insult to the murdering scum.
In times past, textbooks and assorted media used Moslem as the default spelling. Nowadays Muslim is the variant in use so I picked up on that word. I’ll read up on the word Moslem to see how it offends them.
Back in the day, one needed “Theater Clearance” prior to entering the battle space. At the very least they would need to be visaed up before landing in Iraq. I can’t imagine an Iraqi consular officer in Washington would authorize visas for people like them to hike near Kurdistan or Iran. If they wanted a real adventure, they should’ve tried hiking the Darien Gap from Panama into Colombia. I’d rather be a “guest” of the FARC than at Evin prison in Teheran.
