Next week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expected to begin floor debate on a defense authorization bill that would repeal the Clinton-era "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and allow homosexuals to serve openly in the armed forces. Last month, a top military official offered a glimpse of how the military might look should the new policy take effect: Those serving who oppose the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) agenda are no longer welcome.
Those were the views of Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the Army's deputy chief of staff in charge of personnel matters who spoke about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" before several hundred troops at the European Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. "Unfortunately, we have a minority of service members who are still racists and bigoted and you will never be able to get rid of all of them," Lt. Gen. Bostick said. "But these people opposing this new policy will need to get with the program, and if they can't, they need to get out. No matter how much training and education of those in opposition, you're always going to have those that oppose this on moral and religious grounds just like you still have racists today."
The strong words take additional significance from Lt. Gen. Bostick's direct involvement with a Pentagon panel charged with shaping military policy on this issue. Although Lt. Gen. Bostick presented the question of homosexuals in the military as if it were about civil rights, it is nothing of the kind. The services must discriminate to function. Those who are too old, too weak or too overweight must be shown the door even when similar actions in the private sector might spark a lawsuit.

Marriage and kids doesn’t preclude this yahoo from being gay. My next door neighbor left his wife and kid for another man, and helping her move was one of the most uncomfortable days of my life.
This turkey is a POS.
He must have one very focused *chain of command* mentality.
He did, however swear to uphold the Constitution and that allows for religious biases.
Wonder how he will treat his Muslim privates when they start killing gay Christian officers.
My first thought is that it is LTG Bostick that needs to leave the service.
Secondly, I ask the sensible here the following question:
Who make better disciplined troops? Christians with high moral standards and a respect for God that translates into a respect for proper authority, or homosexuals that cannot control their own sexual appetites and behavior?
...so he went from a Brig Gen to a LT.Gen in 5 years?
Ugh, you don't know how much pain that misunderstanding caused my flight in Basic. If I ever see a 341 again it will be too soon, do they still do that crap in active duty?
***Marriage and kids doesnt preclude this yahoo from being gay.***
That is true - I was just researching his bio and found that notation. FYI;)
Right on. But what about open gay small talk. It opens up a can of worms. You can’t fix after the fact. It’s such a farce. They want to “ marry” but only 3 percent of Gays stay “married” stats report. FARCE!!!
What you say is true and when this serving openly as gay goes through it’s going to be a big problem, especially for any in-your-face gays.
“Are we really trying to win wars?”
No but the uniforms will now be in designer colors and worn by anorexic models.
Yeah. I should have just called him a political general, of which there are many.
“very focused *chain of command* mentality” lesds to bad things.
Just one more Social Experiment gone wrong that we will be forced to clean up.
lesds = leads
What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

“General Bosticks awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal, Parachutist Badge, Ranger Tab, and Joint and Army Staff Identification Badges.”
All those awards are either Hooah badges (like boy scouts), or “being there” awards given as the end of a tour of duty. If there was a Bronze Star with Valor, or Silver Star, or DSC.....I might be impressed.
This person is an anti-Christian bigot and should be on the unemployment roles, not on active duty.
Honest question, what does he do that makes him a “Top General?”
If all the Christians were to leave the army, General Bostick would be left with a poofter platoon.
A friend of mine knew one of the original spokesmen on DADT. I understand he really is an absolute @$$. And, he HATES women.
And that’s being courteous.
You, I and everyone here knows the answer to that. It’s a damned shame that many of our elected and military leaders don’t, or maybe they do and are too far gone to care.
