Between the ages of 18 & 35 a person is still considered a child? CHIPS has 25 years of age the last year 'you are' a child....thinly veiled WELFARE! The Dream Act is a Dick Durbin for Reid bill....read carefully then call your elected. It sounds reasonable in parts, but is it?

The rule here is that you always get more of what you reward. McCain must have read our thread on this yesterday, and the Weasel Zippers article it was based on.

Not that McCain won’t pass up an opportunity to put a thumb in the eye of conservatives, but as I’ve said before, McCain is one seriously vindictive SOB and ‘those people’ didn’t vote for him, so he is unlikely to support amnesty or really ANYTHING for illegal aliens going forward.

The dude is so unpredictable. You have to read the headline to have any inkling about what he’s going to do; he could have gone either way on this...Crazy McVain.

Sen. McCain Says He'll Block DREAM Act

Only in our dreams. McCain should have retired and taken the whole clan with him.

this is to eliminate the need for “citizenship”

thus an ILLEGAL ALIEN 35 year old grad student is eligible to be the anchor for serial immigration!!!

it is pure amnesty.

BUT, if they re-name it "The McCain-Reid DREAM Act", he will support it.

I thought I read yesterday that he might be in favor of the Dream Act?

Is he also bi-polar?

I think we should put McCain on probation, and I applaud him when he makes the right (emphasis on RIGHT) decisions. McCain strayed pretty far, but he’s not Mike Castle bad. If we are wise, we will welcome him and any other RINO who repents so long as they behave (or until a better conservative comes along). As far as I’m concerned, a big tent is fine so long as it’s filled with friends.

Reagan: “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally — not a 20 percent traitor.”

Speaking of the DREAM Act, I honestly think America would be more receptive AFTER the border is secure, immigration law is enforced, the anchor baby problem is addressed, and the DREAM Act is modified for the truly hard cases, i.e. came here as an infant, never really knew any other country but the US, etc.

Somebody needs to tell Reid that Illegal Immigrants are not eligible to join the military. All Military applicants must provide proof of citizenship or permanent residency authorization. Also, people who are technically “wanted” for violation of a federal or state law are ineligible and illegal immigrants are in that category. Someone ought to mention they are “illegal” and the military can’t take them.

I think sometimes freepers can be too vindictive. The idea is positive reinforcement.

When he does something good we should applaud him for it, that’s the way to encourage him to do the right thing next time. Blocking this bill is the right thing to do and I’m glad McCain is doing the right thing here.
