Republican Party Shaddow Leadership in Exile

At various times during world history, nations have been invaded, their territory taken over by a foreign power.  One might think of France during World War II.

At the present time, the Republican Party in the United States has been invaded by Democrats, and is therefore not representing it's core consituency.

Candidates run for office to represent Conservatism, something that is supposed to be the core of our party.  Then what happens?

When John McCain ran for the nomination to represent the RP in 2010, the rank and file tried to replace him.  J. D. Hayworth was the go-to guy.

This set up a situation where the rank and file had to battle the party elites.  Sarah Palin and a number of national level Republican office holders came to McCain's defense, endorsing him.  J. D. was trashed in the process.  Who holding a party office actually gave a damn about Conservatism?  Who came out to endorse Hayworth?  Nobody!

Look folks, none of us are sending a dime to the Republican party these days.  People like Palin go out and stump for the party, and infuse money into it, but if you're a Conservative, you're not donating.

Yesterday O'Donnell won the nomination to represent the good people of Deleware.  Then Carl Rove went on national television to talk about her negatives.  Folks you don't do this if you truly want the person to be elected.  You hand the opposition a huge playing card when you trash your own politicians.  Rove actually did this.

When McCain won, the party said, "Well, we know you folks don't like him, but for the good of the cause, we need to make sure we become the majority.  Back McCain."

Now O'Donnell wins, and that line of reasoning was tossed out the window.  Rove goes on national televison and doesn't ask folks to support her so we can become the majority.

I submit it's time for an exile leadership of the Republican Party to be formed, in order for reasoned leadership to be publicly available to those who actually do support Conservatism.

Then I suggest we not only support that exile leadership, but do our damnedest to get that exile leadership installed in RNC central.

It's time for a grass roots revolt.  The RNC doesn't speak for me.  It hasn't for a long long time.

This has essentially already taken place.  O'Donnell is getting funding from every quarter today.  The RP isn't.  The RNC is being bypassed by the rank and file.

I would like to see this made formal.  We've all been thinking it.  We've all be doing it.  Why not develop a public entity that speaks for us for a change?

Then let's do our best to get that entity installed at the RNC.
