Tea Party Express Responds to NRSC
09/14/2010 | Levi Russell-Tea Party Express

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 14, 2010

CONTACT: Levi Russell at (509) 979-6615 or via email at: Levi@FrontLineStrat.com

The Tea Party Express issued the following statement in response to preliminary reports that the National Republican Senatorial Committee would not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware:

"The National Republican Senatorial Committee has reportedly said they will not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware. This is a rash statement that hopefully they will reconsider once good judgment sets in.

"The NRSC tried to meddle in the vote recount for liberal Republican Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. Now they say they aren't committed to supporting their own nominee in Delaware? When will this insanity stop?

"We encourage the NRSC to take a night off, get some sleep, and reconsider their rash statements. It is because of inexcusable conduct in Delaware and Alaska that so many conservatives have turned to the Tea Party Express, offering their support and their donations. These people have lost faith in the NRSC as just another big-government, Washington, D.C.-based organization that has contributed to the problems this country currently faces.

"If the NRSC is committed to defeating Democrats in November, then it is time for them to honor their mission statement and do just that. If they fail to do so, then they can expect millions of conservatives to continue to steer their donations and volunteer hours elsewhere.

"Wake up NRSC, the reason the tea party movement has grown into such a powerful force is because of the failures of establishment organizations such as yours to honor the principles of the Republican Party platform. You tried to force through the most liberal Republican in Congress on the voters of Delaware and they rejected you. Wake up, you are defying your own base, and will end up an irrelevant and impotent organization that serves to only amuse the corrupt political establishment in Washington, D.C.

"The Tea Party Express will back Christine O'Donnell in the general election along with every other candidate we've endorsed. We trust adults at the NRSC will come to their senses and realize that the people have spoken, and it's time for the NRSC to represent the Republicans it is supposed to represent."

The Tea Party Express is a GOP Establishment front group, playing cards very carefully.

What was your previous FR handle troll? I looked at your posting history and you know too much html to be here this short of a time. You had better play your cards carefully, or you will be ZOTTED.

Isn’t the TPE Dick Armey’s group? Or am I crossing them up with something else?

In any case, the TPE seems to be a more “professional” lobbying and campaign group. And there’s nothing wrong with that, they certainly had a good ground game in Delaware. If there’s political insiders that agree with the Tea Party’s goals, hey, why not put them to work?

Steele is a spineless, gutless eunuch. He must be replaced ASAP.

Michael Steele had nothing to do with this. He's RNC, not NRSC. He came out for O'Donnell immediately.

Yeah, that's why they took out long-time establishment pubbie Mike Castle.

You're an idiot.

I didn’t mean to imply that Steele did have anything to do with this. Steele hasn’t exhibited any spine and guts and isn’t what We The People need in this fight to stop the destruction of our country. Whether or not he endorsed Christine is irrelevant in the big picture.

What the MSM did, what Bret Baier did / it is what they d oftenly...they were inferring something to cause chaos and problems among the GOP base.... They do this for a purpose. But no where ever did anyone at the NRSC every say they were not going to support or fund O'Donnell.

If you want to create some type of BS in order to hype the power of the TPE, than you are showing that the TPE is becoming in less than 1 year what it has taken about 40 years for the leadership within the GOP to become. Power driven, inflated sense of self-worth idiots who put themselves above all. The TPE could have easily contacted leadership within the NRSC / RNC to find out this story was completely BS. In doing so stopping a false negative that was taking place among the GOP base.

But perhaps the TPE is more concerned about trying to seem powerful / become such ...more so than being concerned with the Country itself and defeating the DEMs / MSM.

Your post is rambling. But it appears that your problem is not with how the TPE handled the NRSC situation the other evening but rather with the TPE itself. Hope you can get over that.

No. I love that the Tea Party (its members, more accurately) are pushing the GOP in the right direction. My problem with the TPE, is it had a knee-jerk reaction to a false media story. To a story that was 100% inaccurate from the start.

It is disappointing to see the TPE jump to such a knee jerk reaction and in the process further promote needless animosity among members of the GOP base for no other reason than they wanted to seem important. They did not want to do the serious work of confirming information before jumping out and issuing a silly press release that would only stoke the fires among our base where there are some differences.

Furthemore you have now taken it a step further and have suggested that it was the TPE that made the NRSC reverse itself (from a position it NEVER took in the first place).

That’s how it came out, since it was posted on a thread about the NRSC. My apologies for misinterpreting you.

I did hear him on Hannity yesterday and he’s very supportive of O’Donnell.

It will be a cold day in You-Know-Where before a dime of my money goes to either the NRSC or the RNC. I’ll send my contributions straight to the candidates I want to support. I don’t trust them to do it.

Nope...The decentralized nature of the TEA Party is its real strength. If the TEA Party did have a leader the Alinskites would attack them relentlessly. Without a leader the rats cannot target one entity but many thousands...Alinsky tactics cannot work on diversified groups. One could argue that TEA Party (and the Freerepublic) is much like the original colonies...Independent entities with a common goal.

“Cornyn is just upset that O’Donnell has scuttled his plans to preemptively surrender the election by supporting a democratic mole.”

I think Cornyn is beginning to see the light. He thought his job description was to help whoever the anointed thought was the best candidate was the one the NRSC should support. As I Texan conservative, I sent him an email wake up call and I think he might have got the message. Time will tell.

Poltroon is too kind. I was thinking John Chrysanthemum, or Cuspidor, er sumthin.

James Joyce’s favorite word. Spittoon comes to mind.

As our late smouldering disruptor would say: Very queer.

How very queer, disruptor. IBTZ and IATZ.

See ya at the next FReepathon. You’re but a distant memory. Like a butt boil lanced.

We’ll miss you, and fondly await your return. Give us a ping.

We’ll do lunch.
