Rove bashes O’Donnell; O’Donnell supporter at victory party strikes back

I just finished watching Karl Rove trashing GOP Senate primary winner Christine O’Donnell. It was on Sean Hannity’s FNC show. Might as well have been Olbermann on MSNBC. The establishment Beltway strategist couldn’t even bother with an obligatory word of congratulations for O’Donnell. He criticized her “character” and “rectitude” and claimed she hadn’t answered questions about her financial woes. She did so here. Rove mocked her security concerns as “nutty.” Yet, her concerns have been more than justified. See here.

Rove came across as an effete sore loser instead of the supposedly brilliant and grounded GOP strategist that he’s supposed to be. Expect more Washington Republicans to start sounding like Tea Party-bashing libs as their entrenched incumbent friends go down.

At O’Donnell’s victory speech, she invited a 9/12 patriot to speak. He sent a special message right back to Rove, recounting how Rove had met with Delaware 9/12-ers and Tea Party folks to try and convince them to back the “more electable” candidate. “No one is going to tell us how to take care of business,” the 9/12-er said he told Rove. And now, he observed, the “more electable” candidate Rove wanted them to vote for has been…unelected.

The Freedomist reports more details of the meeting:

Rove Tried to Cut a Deal For Castle With Tea Party- Teaparty News- The Collier Brothers

Sources at the Christine O’Donnell victory party revealed to The Freedomist that in December of last year Karl Rove met with Tea Party leaders in Dover, Delaware trying to get them to cut a “deal” in which they would leave Mike Castle alone and NOT support O’Donnell.

The Freedomist has also learned that Rove was allegedly acting as an operative, although in what capacity it is not known, even as he is playing the role of a political analyst on Fox New in a fair and balanced way.

Rove is on Fox News again right now with John Scott ragging on O’Donnell again. He’s doing everything he can to make sure she loses to the Dem so he can vindicate his sorry arse. More legacy from the “poor excuse of a Bush administration”.

Dixie, I think the established, or at least the elite, Republicans saw the Tea Party movement as a threat to only the Democrats. Now they are beginning to grasp the movement is against all politicians who place party power above the will of the people and, worse, above what is best for the country.

BTW: Sen. Cornyn is apparently feeling the heat of outraged callers as he is now saying the RNSC will provide (some?) support to O'Donnell.

PS: As I write this, Rush is giving a good analysis that Washington is upset because the voters chose an “outsider” in the election. [So all you “insiders” better take note!]

I usually do avoid Hannity. Can’t stand his phoniness and constant rehashing of the same points that I have heard earlier in the day from others. I don’t think he has ever had an original thought in his life.

At any rate, I did tune in because I was hoping to get election results. Saw the exchange with Rove, and I was very disappointed in Rove. I can understand that he may not have wanted to endorse her. But he actually went out of his way to attack her. I guess he wants to help the Rat win. I lost a lot of respect for Rove last night.

Isn’t is great that the inside the beltway Republicans are FINALLY getting the TEA Party, and what it’s all about!

It’s not just about Democrats...the American people are angry with BOTH parties...we’ve seen the anger in the Republican primary results, and we will see the results of that anger towards the democrats on November 2, 2010.

For the time being, the Republicans won’t be as damaged at the democrats.

HOWEVER...look at the results of the Republican primaries. We don’t like them, either...and this is a shot across the bow that they had better “buck up”, to quote Sarah Palin, and do what they were sent to Washingtion, D.C. to do...

Represent the public........and not themselves.

They may think that they own Washington, but they don’t.......the people do.

BTW, why do those in Washington choose to vilify “outsiders” who are female, and not the males?

If they believe that the women are easy pickin’s...they had better rethink that notion.

Dixie, the established Republicans are revealing themselves as nothing more than self serving pols by trying to run as independent candidates, or write-ins, after they are rejected by the Republican primary. Once they have tasted the intoxication of Washington, DC power, they cannot give it up. They are political junkies in the truest since of the phrase.

As to why those in Washington nullify women more than men, it is because there are still remnants of the “good old boys club”. Remember DC would pass laws for the rest of us and exempt themselves. The same applies to their culture. I think the upcoming election will add a few more women to Congress and perhaps diminish the female phobia.

Tarheel and I are going to vote early in Oct. so as to assure we will not miss voting. And we are telling all of our Dem friends to vote on the “second” Tuesday in November!

I totally agree...there is a lot of exposing going on out there! I, for one, am very happy to see it! They have to choose sides, now, and we will see their true faces....and vote accordingly.

Yes...there are still remnants of the good ole boys club, but I think they also feel threatened by strong women. I’m so glad, and proud, that we have so many of those women on our side.

The second Tuesday in November? I’ll have to pass that along...lol
