Court documents obtained Saturday by THE WEEKLY STANDARD reveal surprising new details about the gender discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit filed by Christine O'Donnell in 2005 against her former employer, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, a conservative non-profit based in Delaware.* O'Donnell, who is now challenging moderate congressman Mike Castle in the September 14 Delaware GOP Senate primary, sought $6.95 million in damages. In a court complaint, she extensively detailed the "mental anguish" she suffered after allegedly being demoted and fired because of her gender. And, although she didn't have a bachelor's degree until this year, O'Donnell implied she was taking Master's degree classes at Princeton University in 2003.
O'Donnell alleged in a July 1, 2005 complaint filed in district court that she had been demoted because ISI's conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men. She claimed she was fired when she contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regarding her demotion. ISI told the Delaware News Journal that she had been "terminated for operating a for-profit business."
O'Donnell's finances, honesty, and stability have been called into question in light of her false and strange claims. The court complaint raises further questions on all fronts. O'Donnell, who made an annual salary of $65,000 at ISI as director of communications and public affairs, sought up to $6,952,477 million in damages, claiming, among other allegations, that ISI had defamed her and had violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. O'Donnell sought:
--Up to $3,952,447 in "Direct Damages, including back pay" and "lifetime lost income and liftetime damage to reputation."

Personally, if she ran against Biden in 2008, why didn’t the GOP mention all this back then? It was much more prescient?
Clearly, they were ok with it then and made no mention. Now that she might *gasp* win, all the slime is coming out of the closet.
If the GOP RINOS sincerely believed that these issues made O’Donnell elected, then they would have raised these issues two years ago. They did not.
If I voted in De, my barometer would be this: Castle NRA F.
End of story. No self respecting conservative gets an F from the NRA.
If she loses to Coons, so be it but I want the RINOs OUT. Castle is 71...hey bud, give it a rest and go home.
Does that...mean they are not included......
Huh???
Hank
I’ve never even supported the concept of a ruling class. I prefer we lose the seat all together than put in Castle, but lets not delude ourselves over Christine. There are clearly issues there.
What we are watching here a proxy war between Mitch McConnell and Jim Demint for control over the GOP senate leadership.
BINGO !
...well....did she get the money?
She's the epitome of what's wrong with the court system and those who abuse it. In short she's a thief looking for a big unearned payday. It is disturbing to see so many "conservatives" support someone of such low character.
I like it when a token like this has the past exposed; this person is well versed in “progressive” politics.
Why, now that you mentioned, this would me make me contribute to her campaign.
Dump Mike. Go Christine.
The entire staff of stuffed shirt, country club Republican writers for the Kristol Cabal can go jump off a short pier. So bloatedly full of THEMSELVES are they, they will sink like not just stones, but house-size boulders. (In Texas we say, go jump in the lake, but I digress.)
It's possible Christine will be an awful senator. It is certain Castle will be an awful senator.
Vote Christine & if the Dem wins at least the enemy is in front of us.
You said you don’t believe in employment discrimination laws. Does that mean such laws are not to be obeyed? That they don’t exist? What?
The whole point is better to eliminate Castle in the Primaries and NOT gain the Senate than have to deal with his stupid Rino Ass in the next Congress.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. I would love to see him eliminated in the primaries.
“Glad this got out before the primary.”
I agree.
She could be our top scheming agitant. Always good to have a schemer in your corner.
I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion that she can’t win in the general election. She sounds like a weaker candidate than desired, but a lot better than Castle. I hope that she’s the next DE senator.
Non-issue, Ruling Class Republicans.
“Wheres the crime here?”
Is it only “crimes” we should consider when we determine for whom we will cast our vote?
In any event, we can all agree that being an opportunistic, deadbeat, anti-intellectual dingbat is not a crime.
I must suppose that neither is being elected by a certain political party with a particular idealogy and constantly betraying that idealogy over and over.
The voters will, heh, determine the greater crime.
I have no love for Mike Castle, but O’Donnell is a bad joke at this point. Sorry, this all isn’t the result of some massive RINO “ruling class” conspiracy. She’s a bad candidate, and is totally unaccomplished.
I would gladly support a conservative challenger over Castle, however O’Donnell is not someone who is worthy of a conservatives support.
Castle may vote against the GOP on abortion, cap and tax, and a few other issues, but having him in the senate could be the difference between Jeff Sessions as Judiciary chairman or ranking memeber....that means Obama’s judges don’t even MAKE IT OUT OF COMMITTEE. Think about that.
It also means Inhofe as chairman of the environmental committee, rather than a uber-liberal ditz like Boxer (if she survives) or Kerry.
