Court documents obtained Saturday by THE WEEKLY STANDARD reveal surprising new details about the gender discrimination and wrongful termination lawsuit filed by Christine O'Donnell in 2005 against her former employer, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, a conservative non-profit based in Delaware.* O'Donnell, who is now challenging moderate congressman Mike Castle in the September 14 Delaware GOP Senate primary, sought $6.95 million in damages. In a court complaint, she extensively detailed the "mental anguish" she suffered after allegedly being demoted and fired because of her gender. And, although she didn't have a bachelor's degree until this year, O'Donnell implied she was taking Master's degree classes at Princeton University in 2003.
O'Donnell alleged in a July 1, 2005 complaint filed in district court that she had been demoted because ISI's conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men. She claimed she was fired when she contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regarding her demotion. ISI told the Delaware News Journal that she had been "terminated for operating a for-profit business."
O'Donnell's finances, honesty, and stability have been called into question in light of her false and strange claims. The court complaint raises further questions on all fronts. O'Donnell, who made an annual salary of $65,000 at ISI as director of communications and public affairs, sought up to $6,952,477 million in damages, claiming, among other allegations, that ISI had defamed her and had violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. O'Donnell sought:
--Up to $3,952,447 in "Direct Damages, including back pay" and "lifetime lost income and liftetime damage to reputation."

Nothing like a little research of the opposition....But of your own candidate???
This is why I am without a party.
No, he hasn't. He was her debate coach during the campaign and that was that.
These attacks come in waves. We’ve see the waves hit, and after a few days it’s not nearly as bad as it sounds. Certainly Odonnell is ambitious, and she has had to scramble in life. I suspect she didn’t get caught up with paying for her degree for so long is because she didn’t have the money. Shame!
Big question though. Castle waits until just a few days before the election to drop this “bombshell”, is this it? No, this is the last minute Bush DUI hit piece meant to bloody her up. She won’t have time to fend of the last wave. I suspect this is not as bad as it sounds.
“Once in a while, the smears are actually the truth.”
With this logic, you would have to have 1,440 broken clocks placed around your house, and then you would have to know which one to look at corresponding with each minute of the day.
Just to know what time it is.
Now tell me, how many smears do you plan to listen to, in order to know what’s really going on in the world?
>>>complaint filed in district court that she had been demoted because ISIs conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men.<<<
Tell your wife that she is supposed to be subordinate to men.
Move over Rover - I’m sleeping with you for the foreseeable future...
Is that what you would tell a daughter?
Ahhh, I know where I’ve heard that before - Sharia Law....
>> O’Donnell’s problem is that she is just a regular person, with zits and skeletons in the closet, just like me, just like you.
No, she is not a regular person. Sharron Angle in AZ is a regular person. Mike Miller in AK is a (very accomplished) regular person. Ron Johnson in WI is a regular person. They are normal people - and they may win or lose their election (Angle has an uphill battle), but they are all reasonable candidates.
O’Donnell is a fruitcake. I’m sure there are plenty Angles, Millers and Johnsons in DE, but unfortunately none of them wanted to contest the nomination. So, we are stuck with the RINO, but you cannot get all the breaks go our way.
“He put his support behind Castle, admitting that Castle was a RINO, but adding that Castle was a sure winner in the election while O’Donnell was not.”
So we should start electing Republicans who are more liberal than the average Democrat? How is that a “sure winner?”
I figure it’s just that people are so tired of all the attacks, and so sure that all the attacks must be false, that they are no longer thinking, just responding mindlessly.
I can’t imagine that, if you put that quote in any other context, conservatives would argue that a solid conservative candidate would ever say “ISI’s conservative philosophy dictated that women must be subordinate to men”.
The lawsuit failed, so apparently even the liberal courts didn’t buy her argument.
But apaprently, we are supposed to believe that since a RINO party allowed her to win a primary in 2008, that nothing we now find out about her could possibly be true.
Because, you know, we never learn anything about anybody by going through the political process.
>> Christine ODonnell is just a normal woman, she has flaws, shes made mistakes.

This is much to do about nothing and everything to do about helping party favorite Mike Castle. Castle has been at the Government tit for over FOUR DECADES, he is part of the problem, NOT part of solution.
It would be far better to have her win in the primary and lose in the general even if it allows for the Senate to remain Democrat. Better that than a mildly Republican Senate with one more LIBERAL Republican like the bitches from Maine and their “moderate” brethren.
The House is the important chamber to take and to take big in order to control the spending. If the houses are split Obama will have much more trouble blaming anything on the Republicans. As for Castle having him lose in the primary is as good a way as any to end his worthless and harmful career as a RINO.
I hope he loses big. He is a RINO Pig at the Government trough long enough. If elected to the Senate he would be one more hurdle for the true Conservatives to overcome in every meaningful and important legislation which we MUST undertake.
Most conservatives who supported Castle did so only reluctantly. This makes it even harder to support him.
“Wow. Glad this got out before the primary. If all this is true, she is probably so fundamentally flawed as a candidate that there is no way she can win a general.”
IF. A very big IF. So big that you can put it in the category of “conveniently timed election smears.”
The weakly standard is the voice of the RINO elite. Of course we can expect them to to come to the defense of their boy.
Mike Castle's support of Cap and Tax, abortion, and not repealing Obamacare directly affects me, my family, and community.
Is Christine a bad candidate? She has her flaws, and it's too bad nobody else in DE stepped up to challenge Castle. But she has a right to run, she ran in 2008 and apparently the GOP didn't care about her background enough just as long as they were happy she was a sacrificial lamb to Biden.
So the Christine haters can go pound sand. I hope this woman wins, and if she loses, I hope DE conservatives stay home and deny Castle the seat.
The old boys club does not take kindly to women crashing their beltway party. Unless you are an America-hating, pro-gay marriage, and pro-abort of course.
I didn’t tell anybody not to vote for her. Feel free to vote for her, despite the evidence.
I’m just saying that before I thought it would be good to have her beat Castle, and that I thought she might be able to pull out the general. I was almost certain of it after Palins’ endorsement.
But that was a false hope based on ignorance. This article, and the subsequent research I finally did for myself rather than relying on other freeper’s personal testimonies, has convinced me that she will NEVER win a general election.
Unless of course we count the votes the way she did when she claimed she won two out of 3 counties.
