King: Imam behind Ground Zero-area mosque 'blackmailing' U.S. on project

The ranking member on the House Homeland Security Committee accused the imam behind the mosque project near Ground Zero of arm-twisting and "blackmailing" to push Park51 through.

"To me, it's almost as if he's blackmailing and threatening the United States that somehow if the mosque is not approved or people speak out against his mosque, you have to worry about being attacked by Islamic terrorists," Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf on Fox Business Network on Friday.

King said that the Islamic center was being "put their to make a statement, not to build bridges, but to make a statement."

"We don't have to prove ourselves to anyone and certainly don't have to measure up to some standard set by an imam who said that the U.S. was a co-conspirator of 9/11," King said.

The imam sits down for his first Sunday interview on ABC's "This Week" this weekend.

“This is a house with multi-faith stakeholders, multi-faith partners, intended to work together towards building peace,” he said, according to excerpts released by ABC.

On Morning Joe, Mika took a phone call from Donald Trump.

Trump explained that he offered the owner of the mosque building his cost plus 25% - which amounted to about 6.5 million.
The owner refused the offer. Trump is convinced the owner is playing this issue to get the highest offer he can. He’s in it for the bucks.

O’Donnell on the show tried to goad Trump into paying the owner $25 million, but Trump said he would never pay that weasel that kind of money.

Mika insisted that the mosque must be built there regardless of how much money is offered. It’s all about tolerance for her. She is clueless as ever. Trump told her that he likes the Mika on the phone much better than the Mika that comes across on the TV.

After the Beck gathering, Mika wondered aloud, “Who are these people ?” I almost have a trickle of empathy for her that she has never met one.

In New Jersey the imam has been ripping off taxpayers, business partners and tenants for decades. He is a plain and simple crook.
