So DeMint is admitting that he saw the writing on the wall and suddenly decided that he needed to jump on the bandwagon?

Classic.

You could replace 'DeMint' with 'Palin' and it'd be just as true.

I’d cut him some slack. I think he’s saying his endorsement might make a difference now. It’s not like he’s jumping on a bandwagon being how Christine is still a few points down.

-—”You could replace ‘DeMint’ with ‘Palin’ and it'd be just as true.”-—

If you replaced “DeMint” with “Palin,” there’d be 1500 different threads posted and reposted at FR by the usual Gang of 29. Then each thread would have 200 posts by those folks BLASTING Sarah Palin in the most vile of terms.

But this is DeMint doing it, so it's okay - or at worse, no big deal.

That's all I'm sayin’

Nope...not buying that urban legend

Nikki Haley was in 4th place in the polls when Palin endorse her

Joe Miller? enough said

Karen Handel was in second place for a long time to Deal

Even Carly Fiorna was not gaining ground to liberal republican Campbell in CA, she was consistently running behind in 2nd place...Palin’s endorsement made Carly legit enough for California Republicans

Clint Diedler in WA? enough said

Brian Murphy currently in Maryland for Gov?

and the list goes on.....

NRA-PVF Endorses Christine O’Donnell for U.S. Senate in Delaware’s Republican Primary

Friday, September 10, 2010

Fairfax, Va. — The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Christine O’Donnell for election to the U.S. Senate in Delaware’s September 14th Republican primary.

“We can count on Christine O’Donnell to defend the Second Amendment freedoms of Delaware’s law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen.”

Christine O’Donnell’s commitment to preserving the Second Amendment has earned her an “AQ” rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF.

O’Donnell supports national right-to-carry reciprocity and efforts to reform the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. She also opposes reenacting the Clinton gun and magazine ban and believes sportsmen should have access to federally-owned or administered lands for hunting, fishing, trapping and recreational shooting.

“Christine O’Donnell will be a strong voice in fighting ongoing efforts by anti-gun politicians to dismantle the Second Amendment,” Cox concluded. “We ask all Delaware gun-owners and hunters to vote for Christine O’Donnell in the U.S. Senate Republican primary on September 14th.”

Chris W. Cox is NRA’s chief lobbyist. He also serves as chairman of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate rankings. These are based on candidate voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.

I would think he was just biting his tongue until she was viable. He would hate to side against Castle and then have to deal with him in the Senate later. I think he feels confident enough of her victory now that he doesn't care if he gets the RINO all “wee-wee’d” up.

No, he’s saying the polls are close and if an endorsement might push her over the top he would offer one.

Riding a bandwagon would be, just as an example, jumping on Rubio when it was clear he was going to win the primary which Palin...did.

I don’t dislike Palin. I don’t dislike DeMint. I agree with some of their picks some of the time and I think they both have read polls to make endorsements and I thnk both have taken risks. What I dislike is this need to elevate Palin to some goddess symbol I’ve seen lately and elevate her over everyone in the party.

DeMint is a good guy and an ally to conservatives.

>>> Since the polls have narrowed rapidly in the last week

It would have been nice if they had specified what poll and how much it had narrowed the race. My guess is they refer to that questionable Tea Party poll, but if there are credible polls also tracking that I’d be interested in seeing them.
