Right now on KTVU they reported that a coroner is there and there is so far 1 casualty. One gentlemen that lived further up from the explosion ran out of the garage with his video camera and shot film of the explosion. However he stated that for the past few days the smell of gas was present.
I wonder if anyone reported about it when the smell was first noticed. He also stated that a PG & E crew was there some days ago where the explosion occur.

Sounds like PG&E has reason to be slow in answering questions. Tragic if this is poor utility response. Just talked to my SIL who recently moved across the bay from this neighborhood. She is very concerned for friends.
