Thank you FourPeas, my brother just called the home on and everyone is safe - Thank God. The home is about a mile and half away but they can smell the smoke. We were told the fire is heading the opposite direction. We were told by the person there that my brother was laying down in his bed and he and the others did not react to it. They heard the explosion but they have not been affected.

Several explosions in the past few minutes at one of the homes. Dear God, I hope no one was trapped in that inferno! :*(

Yep...for me too..in fact I bought the video the firefighters put together and few times a year I get it out...then those on FR post them now and then and I go to those links...I don’t want to forget...and I never will forget.

After looking at all the available press photos and crossing them against google earth street view, I’m pretty sure the epicenter was directly behind 1700 Claremont Dr. at the corner of Glenview Dr.

8:39: FBI has moved into the area. "Joint terrorism taskforce," screams the jacket of one agent.

8:40: If you have a loved one in the area, you can call the San Bruno Emergency Hotline at 650-616-7180. Please do NOT tie up the line.

8:42: Hundreds of people already seeking help at Red Cross shelter in San Bruno. Teams are arriving with cots, food and water. Also: @RedCrossBayArea: "Evacuation Center open @ Bay Hill Shopping Center at San Bruno Ave and Cherry Street. Red Cross volunteers on scene to help."

8:55: PG&E spokesman speaking with KZTVU says they have crews on the scene, aim to make the area safe, and will not confirm whether or not the gas line is their own. Very guarded. All other sources, including firefighters, say that it's a natural gas fire.

I grew up in CCCounty so always interested in news from Nor/Cal.

Just went to a wedding a couple of week ends ago and the allot of us are Nor/Cal to Oregon Coast transplants (20 plus years) same for folks living around our 4mile radious all left Cali decades ago.
