Burning a piece of paper or a book or a building does nothing to stymie the flow of ideas. Ideas are borne by people, and radical ideologies are spread via in the meeting places of these people.
The statement “we will not back down” in the face of evil is good. One cannot call cowering in the shadows a life of freedom.

Foolish or not, he’s calling attention to old fashioned defiance, American-style. A mob of patriots once tossed tea into the water. It was a vandalous act — who can honestly say that was un-American?
I do hope our non-Christian allies understand why he is doing this though, and that many of us do appreciate their love of freedom. This is confusing them.
