Mayor Daley has announced he will not be seeking another term.
Details as they become available.
“What about JJJ? Would he dare to cross Rahm?”
Isn’t JJJ still under investigation?
I always liked the story that Ayers was POed at Barry because Barry got a big head and wanted to run for Federal office when Ayers wanted him to get big recognition and then take over Chicago for him.
RE: “But the women of Chicago love their Dick Daley.............”
***************
LOL — but not the women I know in Chicagoland — no way do they have any ‘love’ for any ‘Daley’ there...
Bloomberg? Or, does he replace Geithner?
Getting out before the indictments...
Beyond the brief snow plow RAT mayor, how mnany years has it been that a Daley has sat (aka raked in money) in the Chicago mayoral chair anyway?
Bet he appoints himself Mayor Emeritus and has his photo hung in City Hall next to Mayor For Life Harold Washington.
Wowza! He’s finally giving up his kingdom. I’m
sure, Rahm or not, there’ll be a HUGE political
war for his prospective replacement.

Mayor Daley is not seeking another term

September 7, 2010
Mayor Daley announced today that he is not seeking another term.
A public official has to know when it’s time to move on, Daley said during a press conference at City Hall. “For me that time is now.”
Daley said he’s thought about the decision for weeks.
“I’ve done my all,” Daley said. “I’ve done my best. Now, I’m ready with my family to begin the new phase of our lives.”
“In the end, this was a personal decision, no more, no less,” Daley said, declining to answer questions. “I’ve been thinking about this for the last several months . . . . It just feels right.”

Does *that* matter? It’s Chicago, ya know. LOL.
This is rich.
Like Putin, he’ll appoint his sock puppet/seat warmer and run again in 4 years.
LOL.
Ha ha ha ha ha.
Timing is everything, or so “they” say.
Ald. Brendan Reilly should run. A really fine man.
They keep electing this thieving, power hungry bastard, they deserve what they get and the rest of the state puts up with his and Chicago’s bs, it’s on all their heads...
Half price real estate is what this means.
True, very true ... but does it matter if Rahm wants to toss JJJ under the bus, or strike a deal. ;)

As Economy Struggles, Confidence In Obama Wanes
Excerpt:
President Obama makes remarks on the economy at the Milwaukee Laborfest on Sept. 6, 2010 in Milwaukee, Wis. Obama unveiled plans to spend at least $ 50 billion to expand and renew U.S. roads, railways and airports, in a fresh bid to fix the economy.
If there is any place President Obama is going to get the benefit of the doubt, it’s here in his hometown.
Yet public opinion polls show that even here, confidence has slipped. Though they’re a bit hesitant to talk about it.
When one resident was asked how Mr. Obama was doing, the answer was not very convincing.
“Don’t ask me that question.”

I will calmly climb to the roof of my Western Burb’s house and await the first tendrils of black smoke from Chicago.
None of the jobs are shovel ready. Even if that new bill is passed, nothing takes immeditate effect. The jobs are spread over 6 long years...lol.
