I wouldn’t put the Iraq War in the win column just yet, though his surge was undoubtedly successful. But what is the point of winning a battle—and surrendering on the Constitution? If anything I expect his Obama-led groveling to embolden the Islamists, not to make American troops safer. But I suppose in your eyes he should be beyond my judgment?

I don’t think Petreaus said it should be illegal to burn the Koran like this. He just said it would hurt our war effort because it will inspire and strengthen our enemies.
