I don’t think Petreaus said it should be illegal to burn the Koran like this. He just said it would hurt our war effort because it will inspire and strengthen our enemies.
Do you feel like, during a war, Americans should behave in a way that inspires and strengthens our enemies?
Do you feel the same way about our Government that is doing exactly that?
These particular enemies, who use their indignation and our decency both against us? I think he’s mistaken on what strengthens and what weakens them in this case.
