OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - For the second time in less than a week, six small earthquakes have been recorded in a single day in central Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Geological Survey said the six earthquakes on Saturday ranged from preliminary magnitudes of 1.5 to 3.3.

Ring of fire is staying frisky, 400 year dormant volcanos in Indonesia burping and now (The New Madrid?) US is rumbling...

Oklahoma is not a part of the New Madrid fault. Something else is at play here.

What? A range from 1.8 to 3.1? How do you know that it was an earthquake, and not just a diesel truck rattling outside?

Perhaps someone is excavating sub-serface on a large scale. Large quarry blasts register as earthquakes.

Unfortunately I was not equipped to record the effects of all that seismic activity on a frightened student body at OU. I only had my still camera. (:^o)

All that oil in the gulf spill came from the 2nd largest oil deposit...nature abhors a vacuum.

The Meers Fault in Oklahoma is capable of generating Magnitude 7 quakes, and did so 500-2000 years ago.

Thanks SC. I suspect there’ll be another Major earthquake somewhere before end of 2010. I was thinking somewhere in Oz - hopefully not. The most damaging one in Oz happened in Newcastle (approx 168 kilometres from Sydney) in 1989. I was in Sydney at the time, tho distinctly felt the slight tremor. It felt really strange because it was only for a few moments & I didn’t know what was going on until saw the report on TV.

Btw, for a second by “Thanks The Magical Mischief Tour” I thought you were referring to some sort of earthquake! lol
