One is unfortunate. Two is a plot.Similar to 9-11! First plane hits, it's an accident. Second plane is an attack!

The only ones I found funnier than the nuke the Gulf crowd were the the “We're all going to die of poison gas if we don't evacuate the Gulf coast” crowd.
Look on the bright side.
Laughing your ass of is good for the heart.

Please see post 268 to understand why your post is errant nonsense.
(If you were joking, I heartily apologize for misreading you as serious.)

I remember watching that morning. It really was interesting -- the media was reluctant to "go there" while they were grappling with the fact that an airliner had hit the Tower. "This is a horrible accident." "There's no way to know if the pilot had a health problem, if this was deliberate ..." "This is very odd."
Then the second plane hit the Tower. Instantly: "We're under attack by terrorists."
But with the attacks on the fossil fuel industry, they seem reluctant to "go there".

That’s another defining trait, yes.
And one to which exposure to roughnecks has rendered me susceptible.

Telling FReepers providing real information instead of hysteria to get lost and for mocking their hobbies for starters. You mean Freepers who term a simple comment as a 'hare brained speculating'? My initial post was not directed to any of you so-called 'industry experts' and didn't require comment.

Since I started working in oil and gas in 2006, I can think of at least three rig explosions before the Horizon. Yall just didnt hear about them because no one was hurt and the damage was contained quickly Is that really true??

Great. Now I have Beyonce in my head singing “ALL the little babies, ALL the little babies, now put your hands UP!” and it’s all your fault.

tell me exactly what I posted that runs afoul of the opinions of the ‘industry experts’ on Free Republic. “I asked WTH is going on here?

OK. I will. I guess you think your bluster will function as an adequate bluff. It won’t.
You wrote (post 29 this thread): No way two rigs explode within months like this.
You were then provided with specific, factual, information to the contrary. And the best you could do after that was to go ad hominem (the Renaissance festival comment) to someone who clearly knows a good bit more about the oil and gas industry than do you (as evidenced by how completely inaccurate your post 29 was).

It has been well known and commonly accepted for quite some time that future terrorist attacks might be targeted on the Houston area, especially with Texas City- one of our most active and productive concentrations of oil refineries- right there.
How long until we see that area hit?
