Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer and her Republican opponent Carly Fiorina will square off Wednesday night in the only debate scheduled so far in a race that polls show is a toss up between the two women.
The hour-long event at St. Marys College in Moraga begins at 7 p.m. It will be televised on CBS affiliates up and down the state, including on KTTV in Los Angeles. The debate is being sponsored by the San Francisco Chronicle and KQED public radio and will be streamed live on both sponsors web sites. C-Span is also televising the forum.

I just caught the last ten minutes. IMO, Fiorina made Boxer look bad and Boxer made Boxer look bad.
Was that the case with the entire debate?
Fiorina did better than I ever expected; she countered each accusation with facts and/or numbers, and any thinking voter will notice she was the one who substantiated while Boxer floated like a fiber-laden turd.
Fiorina kicked ass on the CEO pay question so bad the moderator had to shut her up.
Yeah. I would have attacked her “Call me Senator” thing very early. And talked more about her elitism. But that’s why I’m posting here and not running for Senator of California.
From what I heard I’ll be able to back Fiorina with my head held high because Boxer only wanted to attack a so called weakness.
Will I send money ?...No!
Will I vote...Absolutely!
Unfortunately I came in too far toward the end of the debate...but Fiorina is a far better pick than Boxer... She kept saying “take back our country”...she gets it!
>> So she uses the Communist Chinese as an example to follow? I repeat, that is dumb dumb dumb.
No. That was not the implication. Again, the message was regulation kills jobs. Fiorina elaborated on the need to strip away the excessive regulations that are killing jobs.
Exactly my feelings. Oh well, Fiorina is better than Boxer, even if she isn’t very inspiring. It’s just that Boxer is just that bad.
Yeah and how many iPods made by her left-wing buddy Steve Jobs say "Made in U.S.A." on the back? Bashing Fiorina for that is just idiotic and all but the most neanderthal union thug knows it.
Yes, Boxers whole debate was attack Carly and say nothing else.
Carly was optimistic, Boxer was completely “i hate you, you bitch” the whole way through.
The problem is, a true conservative won’t get elected in California.
The true conservatives lost the state incrementally, and they will regain it in the same manner.
Fiorina will open the door a crack - then the real conservatives will break it down.
First things first - get Boxer out of office.
I asked to have them consolidated.
Yeah, Fiorina didn’t get dragged into any traps, and she didn’t make a big deal out of the things that could have embarassed her. She could still do a better job of being more direct imho, but, overall and given that the entire debate appeared slanted against her, she did good.
>> Fiorina did well even though she was outnumbered 5-to-1.
Exactly. She did well in a very liberal environment.
100% agree, but she still could have done better, even as a RINO. Here are a few answers she should have given:
“Man-made global warming is a political extortion scheme. Next question.”
“Barbara Boxer is a career politican. However many checks I signed at HP is that many more than she’s ever signed.”
“Why is Barbara Boxer so enamored with exterminating children in utero? I thought we were here to talk about jobs.”
Is there another debate? Can we get Melanie Morgan and Brian Sussman to ask the questions?
I’m sure all the media polls will say Boxer won the debate.
The MSM and the DNC are identical twins.
If she can walk away with all body parts intact from the wolves lair, then she is indeed made of hard substance.
Carly has got more balls than we gave her credit for.
The job is US Senator.
The US Senate can create a positive job environment in the US, by lowering US taxes, but it will take the California Senate to do that in California.
