I’m a non smoker and had the same situation.

My solution was to move. It is not my right to tell other people what they can or cannot do in the privacy of their own home.

If I can’t stand it then it is my responsibility to do what is right for me.

Just to point out ... You moved because what he did "in the privacy of his own home" invaded the privacy of your home.

It bothered you the point where you had to pack up and move to a different place.

What gives him the right to intrude on your privacy that way?

I agree. I didn’t demand that this woman stop smoking. We simply found another place to live.

That said, I do support this legislation. Smokers can be such self-centered jerks, filling their lungs with smoke to their hearts’ content, and caring not at all about how their habit negatively affects others.
