Ground zero mosque opponents are pounding a drumbeat of hatred and ignoring the conservative principles of private property and religious freedom, Texas Rep. Ron Paul says.
In an exclusive Newsmax.TV interview, the 2008 GOP presidential hopeful alleged that conservative opponents of the mosque and cultural center two blocks from the World Trade Center site in New York City are blaming all Muslims for the Sept. 11 attacks instead of focusing their ire on al-Qaida, the actual perpetrator.
Pauls stance has placed him at odds with many Republicans, including his son, Kentucky GOP Senate candidate Rand Paul, who voiced his opposition to the proposed mosque and Islamic center two blocks north of ground zero during a recent Newsmax.TV interview.
Conservatives are enamored with the idea of having an imperial presence on the worlds stage, with troops stationed around the globe, the elder Paul says.
They support the war in Afghanistan and Iraq and actually support plans for intimidating and moving toward war in Iran, he says. They have to have a reason for that, and they cant say its for oil or they cant say its to . . . make them all democrats over there.
You have to have somebody you are willing to hate you have to have a Hitler to hate.
Paul believes such advocates are making Muslims that hate target to get Americans to support the wars.
They have to keep the drumbeat of hate up, so they have to blame the entire religion, he says. Thats not everybody . . . that might support or not support building the mosque, because a lot of people just say, Thats bad manners and they shouldnt do it because they havent thought it through.

This guy is nuts. Where has he been the last 20 years????
The man is a useful idiot. Not particularly useful to me, or maybe to the country, but useful to somebody.
I am burning my Ron Paul sign. That does it.
Dear Ron,
Please go back to attacking the spending of our government, auditing the federal reserve banks, and voting no on pork laden earmarks.
We admire you for these great things. Truly.
But, when it comes to how to deal with Islam, SHUT THE **** UP or you will get us all KILLED!
Sincerely,
America and what is left of the free world.
So we are supposed to be in love with this thing because of private property rights, Paul?
Hell, you little troll, no one is doing anything other than voicing our God given right to speak out against it.If the public outcry gets this thing moved then so much the better.
Does Ron Paul think that private property owners have absolute right to the use of their property? Has he not heard of Zoning Laws, Smart Growth policies, the EPA, OSHA, etc, etc? What a dunce!
What a dope.
(megaphone):
CALLING ALL PAUL-BOTS!! CALLING ALL PAUL-BOTS!!!
YOUR VILLAGE IS MISSING ITS IDIOT!!!
REPEAT: PLEASE COME AND GATHER UP YOUR IDIOT!!!!!
Thats right, community standards are conservative and the community has a right to protest , free speech. We have a right to investigate the Imam. We have a right to question why he is working for the State department.
I didn’t realize Shariah law was so supportive of private property rights...
LMAO
Maybe we shouldn't hate Hitler all that much, Dr. Paul. Afterall, if Hitler had his way we wouldn't have to burdened with those pesky neo Conservatives. /s
Paul, I would wager, has little or no knowledge of jihad, dawaa, sharia, zakat, shahadah, dar al-Islam, etc. Likewise, I would bet he knows little of the history of the Muslim Brotherhood in the USA, the activity of the various Muslim Student Associations, or the number and location of mosques funded by Saudi Arabia. He seems to be mouthing the usual liberal/libertarian platitudes and has little understanding of just how insulting the construction of a mosque at ground zero by very questionable Muslim clerics, would be.
I always though doctors removed tumors, not help install them.
Well...I was wrong about that one.. Whups.
I always knew he was a loon.....
.....I keep hearing about his son Rand, is he this nuts too?
