Earlier today:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2580832/posts?page=116#116

“It also means that as we transition in Iraq, that the one thing I will insist upon for however long I remain President of the United States is that we serve you and your families as well as you served us.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Strange. He could have simply said, “It also means that as we transition in Iraq, that the one thing I will insist upon (as) President of the United States is that we serve you and your families as well as you served us.”
Poor script or cryptic message? IMO, his words are carefully measured and intentionally obscure, (though, not to the muslim world). What happens when he is king of the world?
Couldn’t watch.
As much as some people are hypnotized by the ‘0’ - I am nauseated.
I have been in & out all day working in the yard. I passed on both speeches. I could not stomach the Pretender today.
He used “as long as I am President” in both speeches? Interesting. I need to read the transcripts for context. The first thing which pops into my brain is the classic parental line “as long as you live in this house..” (have used it many times myself, LOL!)
Okay, I skipped the speech. Could someone summarize it for me? Did Obama stand up there and take credit for what President Bush and our military accomplished despite Obama?
The other travesty is the MSM has stopped counting our casualties as though they don’t count under this current president. We heard the death count every day as though they reveled in the fact that Bush caused another death.
sad very sad.
That is funny that the CD player has declared an anti-Bambi zone! I am watching tennis - much more fun and easy on the eyes with Nadal.
Colmes will go away when he is recalled to Mars.
ROFLOL. Colmes does look like what we think of as a Martian. Poor guy. No wonder he is always in a bad mood.
I did hear their telephone conversation was short. Very short. I wonder if he told him they got rid of that old rug in the Oval Office.
It was a rambling campaign speech, only the first part was on Iraq before he stumbled into Afghanistan and the economy here at home. Said some BS about honoring our troops by coming together (utterly pathetic attempt at trying to sound bipartisan) and barely mentioned GWB at all.
Pointless blather aimed at telling the troops that they really didn't accomplish anything. But now that Bush's war is over we can spend even more money.
See? You didn't miss a thing.
Any pshrinks in the house? seems to me that is the narcissism speaking ... he's personally keeping the promise and therefore you must keep him around since he's the one who can do it.
