Here’s a better explanation of her success in Mat-Su IMHO:

“5:19pm: From Shira Toeplitz:
There will be 1,273 fewer ballots processed today than planned. Election officials announced that a set of questioned ballots from four state House districts in the Mat-Su Valley area will be opened Friday instead of Tuesday. ...During last Tuesday’s primary, the ballots in these four state House districts voted for Miller over Murkowski, 62 percent to 38 percent.”
That’s a lot of “questioned ballots “.
I believe there are about 10,000 “questioned ballots “ in total now!
49,888
48,594
Miller by 1,354
To report that he thanked Bush, or to milk some positive comment out of him, or some such calculated move.
I wish the reporter at the ADN would tell us how many votes were cast and where from. It makes a difference. Otherwise I’m thankful for his reporting.
That’s the older.

That’s the newest.
What constitutes a questionable ballot? a hanging chad perhaps
ouch, according to the actual site it is down to 1294 lead for Miller... I hope the absentee’s isn’t going to be a Steven’s/Begich repeat......

She “could” pull out a win, provided she keeps pace with winning 70% of absentee ballots, but how likely is that, outside of the ‘bush’?
The military ballots have not been counted, and I don’t think Fairbanks has either.
Breaking: 496 New Ballots Suddenly Appear In Murkowski District
No link, statement from a campaign worker. I’m told this is highly supect.
“The count is to include 496 ballots from the Laurel/Dowling area of South Anchorage that weren’t counted on Election Day. Elections workers had uploaded a touch-screen memory card that made it look like the results had been reported... but didn’t upload the card used to count the ...ballots, according to the Division of Elections.”
- Dan Riehl
Probably needed to clarify with him how he spells "W".
Bingo, LOL.
Yeah, my late great uncle, dead for over 3 years, came back and voted.
I didn't really care but the least he could have done was come by and see us. We gave him a great send-off.
I can hear the counting room.
“Hey Merle!”
“What?”
“I need some more Murk votes!”
“OK, I gin them up for yezz.”
“Make it about 140. And use different handwriting and addresses. Not all the same like before!”
“OK OK OK Quit nagging me about that.”
“Well get going!”
You would think that a country that at one time could put a man on the moon could get vote counting correct.
EEk, but per some on this thread we should not cry foul it really doesnt happen. All elections and recounts are done in good faith.
Thank you, and that’s PALINLAND.

Gives the fastest results.
The other link from the newspaper is useful as sometimes the reporter mentions where the votes are from. This time around, he didn’t. So we really can’t tell if those numbers are good or bad for Miller. The reporter should always tell where the votes are from, down to the precinct if possible,
when giving updates.
We can all get the numbers faster than he can type, but we don’t know where the numbers are from, and he does.
Are they going to count more today?
