In Alaska absentee ballots are counted a week after the election for a reason — they come in from all all over the state which is very large and not all absentee ballots are able to make it in before election day. Any ballot postmarked NLT the day of the election will be counted according to the Election Officials.

Don’t have a candidate in this race but getting sick and tired of the reference to stealing an election if absentee ballots go the other way. This is Alaska and a Republican primary. Guess the Dems should have sued in OK the other year when that happened and the Republican won.
Not every election is illegal and when you have over 16,000 absentee ballots or more to be counted it could go either way. This planting the seed of a rigged election is wrong. Both campaigns need to sit down and shut up until the FINAL results are posted. Note the word FINAL — the results are not FINAL unless ALL ballots are counted including absentee.
Remember the days when we were mad because military absentee ballots were thrown out in FL and other places. Now some people want to claim victory without the absentee ballots.

Noone said the election was illegal YET; only that 2% is a steep, steep hill to climb. If you deny that, post some evidence of 2% election day leads being reversed by Absentees. I would like to see it.
And there are not 16,000 absentees out there. About 13K have been returned, and at least a quarter will be Dem and maybe 10% will not vote in the Senate Race (the RTL issue got more votes). So it is a much smaller pile. Maybe 9,000 absentees will be GOP ballots. The rest are questioned ballots cast on election day.

If anyone planted a seed, it was the NRSC, by sending lawyers up there to poke their noses in a GOP primary. It makes some of us suspicious that they feel the need to “lawyer up” to protect the RINO herd.

You are correct. It is what it is and will be when all the votes are counted. Until then this is nothing but hype. After the final is in then there will be a winner which will be suject to a recount if the loser so desires and puts up the money unless it’s within .5%.
I doubt Murkoski can make up the difference but all legit votes need to be counted to get a final total.
