My question is serious. What do you intend to do if they practice their religion illegally? What if these illegal Muslims (who have been practicing in this country for over a century) are caught in secret services, praying, publishing underground newspapers, or reading the Koran. If you truly want to “face the problem,” you need to answer these questions. Can you?
First, local jurisdictions should file suits to compel the owners of the mosques and other buildings to pay real estate taxes on the grounds that Islam is not a religion under the meaning of the first amendment. This will serve to cripple Islam financially.
Second, we enforce the federal laws against the planning and conspiring to overthrow the US Government. No person has the right to advocate the overthrow of our republican form of government in the name of Sharia Law. In the Mosques today we have Imams preaching just such subversion. There is no need to arrest any Muslim unless they are actively plotting the imposition of Sharia Law. They can worship any god they choose. But once it crosses over to conspiracy to implement Sharia law that would be an illegal act.
There is precedent in this country for this type of legal defensive measures against a foreign enemy. The communist party was legally suppressed and it's leaders arrested or driven out of the country.
You may be shocked to know that I have visited many Muslim countries and have great respect for many Muslim men I have met. As men and as fathers. But that doesn't change the facts on the ground. Islam is the enemy of Western Civilization and needs to be driven out of every western country they have entered.
And the funny part is I have more respect for these enemies than the liberal multicultural appeasers who, if the Muslims take over, will be the first on the gallows.
I am as serious with my answers as I believe you are with your question. And I don't propose these things with any deep emotion. Just a cold blooded calculation about the danger we face and the way to overcome it.
The coming Clash of Civilizations is real. And I can understand an honest man like you reeling back in shock at what is coming if my proposals take effect. But it really isn't much different than our ancestors facing the prospect in 1775 of shooting their neighbors because they wanted to stay loyal to Britain. Or before the Civil War when Americans had to fight and kill each other for an abstraction like Union.
Average Muslims are decent people - as were average Germans and average Japanese before WWII - but unless they step back from their intent on bringing Sharia Law to this country they are enemies of America and must be dealt with in whatever way defeats them.
