. . snip . . The vitriol began boiling over Friday when Miller's campaign accused the National Republican Senatorial Committee of trying to manipulate the outcome of the race by sending lawyer Sean Cairncross to assist Murkowski with legal questions surrounding the ballot count.

Many Pubbies felt Lisa has done a terrible job - that is why Miller did so well.
That and there was an abortion related question on the ballot that helped to pull a lot of ‘conservatives’ out to vote. BTW - the parental consent iniative passed
THe local rag (ADN) here said
“Murkowski’s pro-choice stance is a particularly sore point, one that Miller supporters hammered her on.
Tuesday’s primary election also included Ballot Measure 2, which would require parents to be notified before their teens age 17 and younger received an abortion. Miller said he thinks that brought out voters who supported him over Murkowski, even though she supported the ballot measure as well.
“The Prop. 2 supporters were our supporters, largely. ... Frankly I think the pro-life vote was important,” Miller said on Tuesday night.”
Elections are complex things, other factors, such as these iniatives, can make a huge diofference...
This is the ugly we the voters want to put a stop to. Murkowski is a good little follower who needs another job. I never voted for her father either.
I was thinking the same thing. Is the Republican Party out of their collective minds? Just STFU and quit and get behind Miller
I wonder how many are registered that way?
Care to comment on Rhode Island, Hawaii, New York, Delaware, Virgin Islands, Washington, Maryland, Washington, D.C., New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Colorado and Massachusetts and the denial of the military vote?
It may be the law in Alaska, but let’s count how many laws this administration and it’s supporters spit on, ignore and thumb their collective noses at. And don’t tell me conservatives should lead by example....THAT gets us nothing when we’re fighting against deceivers and cheaters.
In a day and age when technology makes it possible to design, print and distribute multi-page documents within DAYS, there’s no reason (other than political) that they can’t count the votes of the very people fighting for our country.
How close is this race? Sounds like Miller is winning albeit thinly.
They do not want to be left holding the Obamabag when the economy really tanks in 2011 and 12.(You ain't seen nothin'yet, pal) At which point, they could be slammed in the Elections of '12, by Hillary and a utility marxist yet to be named.
Since most of our elected Republicans are surrounded by left-wing staff in Washington, they are most anxious to get back to letting their staffers and the Democrats run the country while they make deals. They don't need to win a majority to succeed, actually prefer not to, but just feel they need a stronger hand in the endless DC poker game.
The day-to-day business of government is firmly in Left-Wing hands, has been for decades. No Dark Wings need apply ... and don't look to a Republican for help.
Both of the candidates are now acting like children. They should both shut up.
Why can’t these f-——g career politicians just accept the outcome of the vote? There is little difference between b!tching about judges making law from the bench and using the courts to overturn the voters’ decision in an election.
Murkowski is so much like a democrat it’s disgusting.
She clearly displays a sense of entitlement to the nomination and the senate seat. She shows resentment that she may not win because of lesser people who are obviously too stupid to know it is her birthright.
If she had any class she would have gracefully conceded or, at the least, stand quietly by until the final absentee ballots are counted.
Of course people suspect attempts at dirty dealing. Why should the NRSC get involved in a primary election between two republicans? Why would they send their Washington lawer to become involved on Murkowski’s side?
The republican establishment may not be quite as corrupt as the democrats but it isn’t for lack of trying.
Come on!
American politicians are very ethical and never use dirty tactics to win!
You stupid little people just wouldn’t understand.
The elitist, ruling class RINOs in charge of the republican party have represented the MAJORITY of the problems republicans have encountered for YEARS!! These are DC liberals and haven’t a CLUE about the wishes of the true conservative party base.
These libtards are crafty. I’m guessing there are forces “Rahm-ing” RINOs down the throats of the people, and the NRSC is not immune to RINOs by any stretch.
Methinks those allegations would be hard to prove. Care to try?
Agree w/ your tag, especially the Literacy Requirement.
Since in don’t live in “Rhode Island, Hawaii, New York, Delaware, Virgin Islands, Washington, Maryland, Washington, D.C., New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Colorado and Massachusetts”
I have NO standing and so my opinion is worth zip.
As a side note, Ore has ALL balloting by mail.
The military has made half-hearted attempts to help remote members vote, but if the mail service my son recived in Iraq is any indication - getting anything while remote is a crap shoot, let alone a ballot. I suffered thru that same issue for my active duty years.
I believe this bruhaha only shows that elections have
become so razor thin due to
A) voter apathy
B) Use of absentee ballot for fraud (both parties)
C) Lack of voter knowledge of issues (see A above)
D) Voters seeing thier balloted decisions overturned or blocked by activist judges (SB1070 just the latest) that they give up (See A above)
The quote famously attributed to Josef Stalin said It doesn’t matter that people can vote, what does matter is who counts the vote”. The drones who control the levers of power are a far freater concern. Soros and company have concentrated on these (where elected) in order to control the outcome...
YMMV
They are making it very difficult to convince independents that there is a significant difference between parties.
Chuck, Congressional Office Staffers, those who staff committees, and indeed the entire Congressional working apparatus, tend to survive any change in Congress. They have been in place for years. It is this pool of "experienced" people from among whom Republicans and Democrats alike draw staff. Egregious case in point: Bob Dole, whose DC staff was overwhelmingly Democrat, including his Chief of Staff.
For example, it is they (and lobbyists) who actually write the bills that very few of our representatives even read, in cooperation with colleagues in other government agencies and departments, which are not notable employers of Republicans, either. Sorry. The entire system is dominated by Democrats, from top to bottom.
Many of the "mandarins" who operate the government in DC on a daily basis are actually the children, grandchildren, and by now the great grandchildren, of people who came to DC with Roosevelt. It is a "governing class," and it simply does not in any substantial way represent the Republican political spectrum.
I worked in DC a lot, and these are my personal observations. The official government agency default position is "Democrat."

I wrote the secretaries of state in each of these states with the info about soros “buying” them—I wanted THEM to know WE know.
Got a “heated” response from Colorado’s sos to my e-mail...I sent the others letters via snail mail.
Miller is a stand up guy and I’ll bet he would pledge not to run as a write in or 3rd party candidate if he looses fair and square. However, I doubt the Murky would be willing to abide this higher standard. Rinos are all about themselves and not the cause of liberty.
AIP and Republican Moderate can’t vote the Republican primary ballot. Only registered Republican, nonpartisan and undeclared.
