Pastors affirm Obama's Christianity, denounce 'misrepresentations' By Elise Viebeck - 08/27/10 12:59 PM ET
More than 70 pastors and other denominational leaders affirmed President Obama's Christianity on Friday in a letter written to oppose "those who continue to insinuate that the President is Muslim, not a Christian."
The letter urged religious leaders, public officials and the media to refuse to give attention to those who distort Obama's faith, calling the president "unwavering" in his commitment to Christianity.
The statement comes on the heels of a poll last week showing that 18 percent of Americans believe Obama is a Muslim, up from 11 percent in March 2009.
The number that say Obama is a Christian, meanwhile, has sharply decreased -- from 48 to 34 percent -- within the last year.
Another poll out Friday shows that Protestant Christians' approval of Obama's job performance has steadily declined since 2009, and that they now approve the least, at 43 percent, of any religious group except Mormons.
The letters' signers, who represent more than seven Protestant denominations and numerous other groups, wrote that contrary to rumors about Obama's faith, many of them had "prayed and worshipped with this President." They also stressed that as a group, they all come from "different political and ideological backgrounds."
"We understand that these are contentious times, but the personal faith of our leaders should not be up for debate," the letter reads. "We believe that fellow Christians need to be an encouragement … not question the veracity of [others'] faith."
These aren’t just pastors, these guys are “denominational leaders”.
Me thinks they doth protest too much.

No “Christian” support partial birth abortion. Nor does a Christian support the enemies of the Church. Obama has illegally provided millions of US taxpayer’s money to fund abortion in Kenya. He advocates socialist policies as well as coddles up to dictators who imprison Christians.

Be wary, wary aware ....and wary, wary afraid
The “religious left” is what remains when you take away any meaningful level of religious faith.
Get their names and question them as to how they know this. Just sitting in a church does not a person a Christian. I personally no a guy that is an atheist that attends church regularly because of his wife. Obama may be attending a Christian church only because his handlers instructed him to so he could get elected. Obama has been groomed from a very early age.
Didn’t bammy go to a hate church for about 20 years? What was it his preacher said? Something about damning America?
When and where was he baptized?

There seems to be more anecdotal evidence that Obama is a Muslim than a Christian. His lame reasoning about not attending a local church in DC because it would cause too much disruption is contrary to his willingness to cause traffic jams and other inconveniences when he is out raising money and vacationing.
Probably because they see he & the family at church every Sunday.

These same pastors are also firm believers in Humanism and adherers to the Social Justice Liberation Theology.
In other words, they are Unitarians.
