01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

I still haven’t heard a good reason why changing the definition of marriage is GOOD for the society.
Insanity is a place where there is no reason. Don’t waste your time and energy with the insane. They are not reasonable and will never admit they are wrong.
Replace “gay” with polygamy, beastialty, incestual or just about anything else and all 10 reasons work just as well.
Sigh, has anyone who favors traditional marriage ever used that as an excuse?
As I understand it, “til death do you part” is the most traditional.

Gay marriage is unnatural and wrong - period.
ANY society has a right and a responsibility to uphold social norms in order to survive. To my knowledge NO society which ever existed, even those tolerate of sodomitic life-styles, had provisions for “gay” marriages.

Homosexuals all say that it is only time before science PROVES that homosexuality is biological. I say, there is already proof that it is NOT: see biology text books about X and Y chromosomes! But, just like man-made global warming, they simply don’t like THAT science, so they will continue to look for something else!
All these science arguments reminds me of the Franken election results - keep counting until a D goes ahead and then declare victory! Keep looking until you can pervert the science to “seemingly” explain your position and then declare VICTORY!
Tell them you’d be more than happy to get rid of “no-fault” divorce laws that make it so easy to get out of a marriage. Tell them you would not mind laws making adultery a civil offense again.
After all, what groups and kinds of people lobbied for relaxing divorce laws and decriminalizing adulterous behavior (weakening marriage) in the first place? Feminists, free love folks, open marriage folks. Being in favor of no fault divorce laws is a liberal viewpoint. Always has been.
Look at the types of people who take advantage of it, people who should never have married in the first place and would not have if they couldn’t get out of it (ie Britney). Any example like that falls into this category.

Traditional marriage is a God-ordained institution.

Society doesn’t forbide it. Society sees it as the sad tragedy it is. Nobody wants to be a single parent.
For me there are two powerful reasons to not have gay marriage: 1) The slippery slope argument where if you give gays special rights then practitioners of polygamy, incest, pedophilia, etc., will demand the same rights. You are opening the door to changing the definition of marriage which then changes the definition of family. 2) The children will suffer with these other types of marriage contracts. I believe a man and a women is the best model. The Bible has labeled these other practices sin for the same reason that adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, etc., is a sin: it weakens the family. If you weaken the family, therefore, children (the weakest members of society) will suffer.
Stupidity is right next door to insanity. Stay off that street because you are wasting your time.

Marriage is an institution defined clearly and which applies that definition equally to everyone. And anyone who voluntarily wishes to accept the terms of marriage can be married. Another institution which is also defined in the same way, but is even more exclusive in the application than marriage, is medicine. If you want to be a doctor you have to have enough money (excludes the poor), and commit yourself to earning grades (excludes the stupid, lazy, insane and developmentally challenged) and believe in western medicine (excludes those who believe medicine is evil). This definition is much more exclusive than marriage, and clearly prevents all of these people from being able to even hope to be medical doctors, even if they are willing to abide by the terms.
So, if someone argues that traditional marriage is discriminatory then simply point out to them that you must then be a medical doctor, and demand they let you practice on them. If they don't then they must be just as bigoted against the insane, retarded, lazy, stupid, poor and those who are ideologically anti-medicine as they say you are against homosexuals.
Actually, it is impossible to be a single parent.
One parent may not be involved. That is the tragedy.
Just a thought on the future - when will children be referred to as “failed sexual protection?” The exception, not the rule.
