I have read enough of this thread to see several VERY troubling things.
One nut-job actually said, “Well, perhaps McCain was the best bet to keep the office in the Republican camp.” Nevermind that John McCain has operated as a DEMOCRAT from day one in the Senate.
Many folks came here to lament McCain being re-elected. Trouble is, they were NEVER to be found on your threads joining in to take him apart.
Others were perfectly willing to blame McCain’s victory on Hayworth. We know that Hayworth did a few things we don’t like, but we also know that he had a 97.6% favorable rating from the American Conservative Union. McCain had something like a 65% favorable rating. Hmmmmm, 97.6% or 65%%? Conservative principles for all but 2.4%, or a pal of Soros, Kerry, Kennedy, et al? It must have been a tough call for some of these folks...
BTW, McCain’s new term for pathway to citizenship is Regularization. And of course, regularization is not amnesty.
If the good people of Arizona couldn’t see McCain for what he was considering the state is being occupied by Mexico, I don’t hold out any hope whatsoever that this nation will be righted.
Sarah Palin, the next “best hope for the party” actually campaigned for his man. And yet, probably 90% of the people on this forum can’t wait to vote her in as president.
And this from people who actually consider themselves to be Conservatives.
And then there was the idiot that was hoping you wouldn’t be harping on McCain any longer. Nah, why would anyone want to harp on a guy that has been consorting with the worst enemies of our nation?
Six more years...
Six more years!
Turn the lights out Rabs. The party’s over.
This nation is so screwed.
I’m not turning out any lights. I will continue to fight and to campaign for my conservative candidates. I will never give up.
In order to win a statewide race, whether it's in AZ, or California, or Florida, or even Massachusetts, YOU NEED THE RINOS and in many cases "independents", too.
In this I'm channelling CommonTator, who's in heaven and can't speak for himself here (at least I don't think so).
Some people here talk like Trucons voting for Trucons can recapture the country, and it's just not so.
If JD really had a 97% ACA rating, I'm sure it hurt him in this process, and McCain's "antiparty" reputation and behavior, I bet, helped him a lot.
Trucons need a coalition strategy, or they have to settle for 30 seats in the Senate and 150 in the House.
You have a point.
If people are dumb enough to elect that RINO scum McCain, they’re dumb enough to re-elect Obama and dumb enough to re-populate the House and Senate with RATS, even as those same people destroy their country around them.
