I never have and never will vote for someone ‘because they can win”!
I understand, and agree.

I'm just disappointed that so many of the "good guys" on our side are so incompetent in their chosen field.

I certainly don't know how to run a political campaign, but I'm not running for anything.
You'd think that at least SOME of these guys would spend a little more time "learning their craft" -- like Reagan did.
Being "right on the issues" is NOT enough.
It's NECESSARY -- but not SUFFICIENT.

“The results are from only 11% of the votes, if I’m reading it correctly. Looks like a lot more votes to be counted.”

No, it’ll be McCain. I don’t know why, I voted for JD, some say they don’t think JD can win the seat over the Dem but they think McCain can.

Sigh.

By the way, dummy. I voted for JD today, knowing he was going to get stomped. I did. and he did. How much money did you donate to JD? Yeah. That’s what I thought.

I voted for JD too, and like you, I am getting more than a little tired of some of our FRiends characterizing all Arizonans as idiots. Without being here to see the campaign, it's hard for outsiders to understand that JD didn't do himself any favors. He started out with honorable commercials when McCain was slinging mud, but then he got down in the mud himself and started slinging back. It would have been so much better if he had kept to the high road and talked about what he planned to accomplish while in office. In the end, JD got more mud thrown on him by an expert mudslinger, and I believe the voters were thoroughly disgusted with both of them. Jim Deakin, the third Republican candidate, ran a clean campaign and got 11% of the vote. There's a message in that result for those who are willing to read it.

Ahh, now you stepped in it.

It's the purity you see. Most would rather back a pure also ran than vote for someone who can actually get a few more votes.

After all, it does not matter who sits in the senate, rather the principles, because that is what writes and enacts legistation. Laws we must live by, or die bucking.

Seriously, if people can’t see the lying old fool for what he is (proof he lied about voting for amnesty)
then what does this say about our chances of cleaning out the libs in Nov?
I was fairly conviced of our chances in Nov., but now
not so sure.

Are these the same people who, in large numbers, supported the now famous “Arizona Immigration Law”?

Now, they vote for a RINO who supports amnesty for millions upon millions of unlawful immigrants?

It’s just too much for my mind to process.

I swear, about nine years ago, I must have tripped over something and fell into a truly funky parallel universe.

You must stop making sense! LOL.

I'm already worried that Sarah and Todd's endorsements in Alaska plus the endorsements of THE TEA PARTY EXPRESS of JOE MILLER and their combined hard work won't be enough to defeat the incumbent machine of Lisa Murkowski!

So, is that the latest talking point, that Palin lied about her feelings for McCain just to fulfill her obligations?

It’s amazing how much so-called Palin supporters will trash her reputation and character to make her fit into THEIR mold.

She endorsed McCain, stating clearly that she found he was the BEST PERSON for Senate in Arizona. So, unless you are calling her a liar, you should just stop trying to make excuses for her.

Whether it’s 20 mil bucks, Sarah Palin, open primary, easterners moving in, Jan Brewer, illegals...whatever reason you want to give...JD and McCain were well known, flawed, and McCain won almost 2 to 1.

So, what specific stances on the issues do you think caused Arizonans to prefer McCain over Hayworth?

Here is what Sarah Palin said, in her own words, about John McCain:
“For the sake of your state, for the sake of our country, send a maverick back to the United States Senate."

“It was John McCain who warned us about this administration’s plan for growing government.”

“Let’s not beat around the bush. Everybody here supporting John McCain, we are all part of that Tea Party movement.”

I choose to believe that she was telling the truth. I don't see how her supporters can suggest she was lying out of some misguided loyalty, and then suggest she would be a good President. Her strength is her honesty, and it pains me to see her so-called supporters suggesting she is dishonest.

McCain used public financing for his Presidential general election campaign.

DITTO THAT!! Look at the miserable turnout in AZ. 3.5M reg voters and 550K turned out. A very bad omen for Nov 2010 IMHO.

WHY were the (apparently gullible) voters of Arizona fooled - yet again - by Juan McPain temporarily tacking to the right only over the past few months?? They should know this idiot by now... Grr!
