Pakistani flood victims' anger at US

Displaced people are camping everywhere. Shelters of canvas and plastic sheeting line the edges of the highways linking Islamabad to Peshawar in the north-west of the country.

The roads are raised, a precious strip of dry land in a sea of stagnant floodwater and thick mud.

I stopped at one makeshift camp and a group of men rushed forward as soon as I got out of the car, crowding round.

One was a thin-faced man in his 40s called Iftikhar.

He pointed to the swamped ground beyond the railway tracks and the remains of his village. His house had been badly damaged, he said.

Even though the waters were starting to recede, it was too unstable for him to move back there with his six daughters.

We desperately need help from the government, so we can rebuild," he told me.

Speaking of pictures; don’t those gents have rather elegant coifs to be fighting in a bread line?

Now that you mention it, yes. My first impression was the guy on the right looks like he's grinning. Maybe it's just a cat fight between to queer Pakis not over the bread.

More than you know. I was once a maintenance man ( there are no professional maintenance engineers at apartment complexes no matter what the lying leasing agent tells you ) at a Section 8 property. We had people living in air conditioned three bedroom apartments paying 27.00 dollars a month subsidized rent and they couldn’t even come up with that on time. But they sure as hell had the latest Tupac CD’s and plenty of malt 40’s. Out of 225 units there were a total of six families that were truly trying to better themselves and work their way out of the crapper. The rest were scamming the system. They were very unappreciative of the help they were given and frankly considered it to be their due.

Of course not! How would someone with an original sign up date of 1999 know about Dane?

...............Yeah, using FReepmail to say “I’ll fight you anytime anywhere!” is usually a sign of Johnny Warper saturation.....................

No, I didn’t want his attack on me to turn into the ugliness that it now has. Sometimes best to keep issues off the public boards. Now, you and others continue to attack me on the boards.

Sorry that I continue to feel that 4 million homeless Paki’s deserve some sympathy and aid. A hell of alot better to help them than to piss away the balance of Pelosi’s $800 billion wasteful fraud on total garbage to help the democrats.

Just my thoughts, think as you will, but please get off your attack mode, as I feel that 4 million humans are worth more than funding studys for some NYC sewer rats.

Nope, Grizzley, I don’t spend much time and effort on the kitty litter box. So I musta missed Dane, and all your vitriol about his views.

I hope that I’m not going to be considered your new Dane troll posing as an 11 year poster. If so, so be it, I’ll stay away from commenting on your posts.

Grizzley, How do I explain it??

1999, when I began posting, was four computers ago. I didn’t know my password when the Dell shit to bed last year. On recovery, I asked JimRob for my password for aShepard. Never got a response.

So in hindsight, I did a stupid thing, I re-signed as Noob 1999, with a home page explanation that I thought would keep me away from screaming kitties and such.

I thought that the 1999 date would help give me some posting cred.

I guess your attacks (and others) have proved me wrong.
So let’s deal with it

Sorry that you feel the need to spend OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY that THE PAKIS have no right to.
This country is heading into bankruptcy at an exponentially increasing speed, and YOU feel that you must spend somebody else’s money to help a country that harbors the Taliban because it currently suits their whims.
If you feel so bad about it, send YOUR OWN DARN MONEY INSTEAD OF MINE.
Is that clear enough for your little breaking lib heart?

Not to worry, ......

From the Saudi Gazette.....

‘Kingdom to spare no effort in aid to Pakistan’

JEDDAH – The Council of Ministers chaired by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Monday resolved to continue sending aid to flood-stricken Pakistan.
“The Kingdom will spare no effort in supporting the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to cope with the damage from flooding,” Minister of Information and Culture Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the Cabinet’s session.
As of August 19 the Kingdom had pledged $106 million (84 million euros) in aid to Pakistan, making it one of the leading suppliers of relief funds after the floods, which have killed 1,500 people and affected up to 20 million nationwide in the country’s worst ever natural disaster.
On Monday, three large Saudi military transport planes delivered a team of Saudi rescue workers from the national and border guards, and relief equipment that included boats and generators to Karachi to help with rescue operations.

Cabinet backs M-E peace talks
The Cabinet also affirmed its support of direct peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis to be held in Washington on Sept.2.
Khoja said that Cabinet welcomed the International Quartet’s statement on the resumption of the talks. Cabinet also welcomed the Palestine Liberation Organization’s decision to take part in the negotiations.
The statement came a day after King Abdullah discussed the peace plans with visiting King Abdullah II of Jordan.
On Friday, the Quartet of Middle East peace mediators – the European Union, Russia, the United Nations and United States – said the talks on a treaty establishing an independent Palestinian state could be wrapped up in one year.
Saudi Arabia has played a key role in rallying regional support for its Arab land-for-peace initiative, based on a two-state solution with east Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital.
The Kingdom has at the same time also supported Palestinian resistance to direct talks unless Israel halts its Jewish settlement building in the occupied West Bank.
The Cabinet reiterated its call for the Iraqi people to unify and form a reconciliatory government that “achieves their aspirations in reaching a unified, independent and stable country”.
On domestic matters, Khoja said the Cabinet approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Doha on Feb. 22, 2010.
The Cabinet also approved a scientific and educational MoU between the Ministry of Higher Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of National Education and Higher Education, Framework Formation and Scientific Study of the Kingdom of Morocco signed in Riyadh on Jan. 5, 2010. – SG
