Evangelicals and the Coulter affair
World Net Daily ^ | August 23, 2010 | Joseph Farah

.................I believe that's what Jesus meant when He told us to love our enemies. The ultimate demonstration of love for a Christian should be to evangelize the lost.

There is no indication Ann Coulter has ever used one of her paid speaking engagements to do this. In fact, I'm not even sure a paid speaking engagement is an appropriate forum for evangelizing.

Nevertheless, I have heard from a few Christians who compare Coulter's paid speaking gig to Homocon with Jesus sitting down with tax collectors and sinners.

That is not good discernment.

Coulter is a political activist, a pundit, a satirist. She is not Jesus. And she is not an evangelist. No one is likely to get saved at Homocon because Ann Coulter gives a conservative stump speech.

What will happen as a result of her appearance is that a compromise will be made with sin. Sin will be condoned or appeased. A conservative icon will find accommodation with a sin that would undermine the foundations of Western civilization, the Judeo-Christian ethic and the most basic biblical standards of sexual morality.

You probably remember making statements and having to prove them with links too.

Definitely. People at one time demanded you support what you said, and you did the same. It wasn't totally uncommon for me to amend my view or even change it because of a convincing series of posts from somebody who took the time to craft his position and support it with evidence. I am a much better prepared conservative because of those experiences. People didn't just call you a name for not agreeing immediately but actually seemed to see a reason to try to bring you around to their way of thinking. That was one of the things I always liked about this place. Now, the whole tone has changed, and it seems harder and harder to make any headway in a discussion. People are tending more and more to post past each other and it just becomes a lot of noise. I don't know if such things as used to happen can still be found, but I hope so.

I've been asked by an old timer for a link. It happens. Not often but there are still discussions and an exchange of information on some threads.

Maybe part of the problem now is people "post and run". Some of them from work. They just don't have time for links. And then there are the mean posters..........they just beat other posters with words and insults.

*sigh* We are becoming like the dinosaurs I guess.

Yes, I think you may be right. Though I am glad to find there are some dinosaurs hanging around still. It is the opportunities to read interesting points of view and see real thoughtful argumentation, along with getting to see a lot of news not on the MSM, that keeps me around. I really don't want to think it has all become like what happened on this thread.

Not always. But there's a lot of posts that are never answered too. There are discussions but not many.

And to be fair, this is an opinion thread. Either one agrees or they don't. That's where some trouble starts. People just don't like contrary opinions.

Hope the rest of your day is MUCH better!

In one of Ron dog’s links, a clip of Farah’s interview with one of the butt-loving sodomites is provided, I gave a summary of what I heard in my post #151, I am proud of Farah staying true to his Christian convictions in the interview, not so much with Ann anymore, the new right wing fag hag......

Thank you, I did not have the stomach to listen to the disgustingly evil Signorile.

Much appreciated! Will read your summary.

Thank you.

The quoted bit from Signorile about Farah saying he realized that Coulter lied??? What was that about?

...but I think that her position on gay marriage comes through CRYSTAL CLEAR.

I'm all about "gay" marriage. In fact, I think if you were to ask around, the majority of FReeper's would agree:

ONE MAN, ONE WOMAN, "HAPPY" IN HOLY MATRIMONY.

I lambasted a co-worker recently who is doing his best to become a conservative, (yet remains a republican) when he complimented 3 time marriage loser Rush Limbaugh for agreeing with the sodomite he paid a million bucks to perform at wedding #4 ("Dame" Elton John) when he said: "At least they're both against gay marriage!"

I replied: "So? God STILL sees homosexuality as an "abomination" and "detestable", whether the sodomites are married or not. Our Founding Fathers looked upon homosexuality as a "disgrace to human nature", and you're telling me that I should respect Limbaugh and "Dame" Elton because they don't want to take sodomy a step further?"

Peter LaBarbera at Americans for Truth About Homosexuality suggested that Coulter give the proceeds of her speech to pro-family groups such as PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays) or Elaine Donnelly’s Center for Military Readiness, which has led the way in battling President Obama’s reckless plan to homosexualize the U.S. military in a time of war.
AFTAH Link

I suppose that would be some sort of "atonement" for her sins.

Thanks for the link "whatisthetruth". How about a warning about the contents in the future? I went through a half bottle of Windex cleaning saliva off my monitor screen from Signorile's "lisp".

There was no doubt in my mind prior to hearing the interview that Farah wouldn't sellout "traditional American values". I just wanted to hear it for myself.

I too am proud of Joseph Farah and am glad that he's on the side of Christianity in this on-going culture war.

Given that Obama was a very deft candidate who was able to pull the wool over many right thinking people’s eyes, and fool them into thinking he was a centrist, I’m not going to judge the LCRs on one election.

Many people were fooled by him.

The Log Cabin Republicans were “outed” as being mere homosexual activists with an “R” label pinned to them, for the purpose of promoting the homosexual agenda.

They sort of petered out (no pun intended!) and now, voila! The GOProud organization has appeared, with an all “gay” rights agenda plus a nod to the 2nd amendment.

If you’re not sure about this, just do a bit of reading. There’s a lot more to “judge” both organizations on than voting records and of course that’s damning enough. Moderate Dems might have been fooled, but not conservatives!

0thugga was very, very public with his pro-homosexual agenda stance before the election. “We’ll be the best friends gays and lesbians ever have had in the White House” and they weren’t lying.
