Polling says its a winning position. She wouldn’t have done it otherwise.

Really? Kudos to Whitman if she is sincere. This might tip her into the lead. Now she needs to come out against the victory mosque and ask Brown what his opinion is.

This Romney protege is stupid. The Bee asked her this question because they want to trap her into a hot-button social issue.
CALIFORNIA IS CIRCLING THE DRAIN ECONOMICALLY AND WHITMAN GIVES A RINO ANSWER ON HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE. AN ISSUE SHE HAS NO CONTROL OVER AS GOVERNOR OTHER THAN BEING FOR OR AGAINST IT.
California deserves to become a province of Mexico or fall into the Pacific after the big one hits.

Polling says its a winning position. But is it an important issue right now?
Whitman needs to talk about jobs. She needs to explain to people how state government bureaucracies, the envirowackos, and high taxes are causing jobs and professionals to leave. It's good that she supported Prop 8, but as Governor how will she exactly enforce it? It's a wedge issue to split Whitman.

Polling says its a winning position. She wouldnt have done it otherwise. She didn't actually take a position on the substance of Proposition 8. She said the governor and attorney general have an obligation to uphold the constitution and move the case forward. That's a clever attack on both Brown and Shwartzenegger for not doing their job, without stating a preference on the outcome.

Actually it's a great answer.
- As I pointed out earlier, it shows a difference between herself and the Moonbeam.
- It also reinforces the idea that Jerry Brown is derelict in his duties as Attorney General by putting his personal feelings ahead of his responsibilities to the citizens of California.
- And it doesn't hurt to put a little distance between herself and Schwarzenegger.

Brown is over at Code Pink headquarters looking for donations.

The only way to turn things around in Ca is for Jerry Brown to win. Think about it..........Where would we be with “president” McCain by now?

Actually she gave an answer that is in line with the majority of CA voters. Also, you are wrong when you say the governor has no control. The 9th circuit has already said that due to lack of support from the Governor and the AG that there is a chance that the Prop 8 ruling won't be appealed due to lack of standing. She is way ahead of the game with this answer and now needs to come out about the frickin' mosque.

Blah, blah, blah. If you live in CA, you hold your nose and vote for Whitman because Jerry Brown = total destruction. You have no choice. So why are any threads even needed?

We need threads because this is PAINFUL!!

Whitman will say ANYTHING if she thought it would help her get elected.
Don't believe anything she says.
Of course there are 5-10% of the population that will vote this issue alone.

Whitman made her clearest stand to date on the issue while speaking at the warehouse of Solar Gard Window Film in San Diego LOL. Does she actually want to talk to any voters? A warehouse of a Belgium company. Brilliant! /s
