WASHINGTON -- Months before his own name will be on the ballot, U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint is doing well at the polls.
Dino Rossi's top-two finish in Washington state's primary Tuesday boosted DeMint's record to 6-2 in Senate primary contests around the country in which he's formally endorsed a candidate.
"If (Rossi) is elected, he will stand up to the big spenders in both parties and help us take our country back," the South Carolina Republican said after Rossi advanced with incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Patty Murray to the general election campaign.
DeMint has a rising national profile among conservative activists thanks to his loud opposition to spending earmarks, immigration reforms and the Democratic health care plan that President Barack Obama signed into law in March.
Despite his status as a first-term senator, DeMint's Senate Conservatives Fund has raised $4 million in the current election cycle, more than any other Senate leadership political action committee.

fyi
DeMint is the ‘Real Deal’ - the best conservative in the entire Senate. He’s ‘out front’ in pushing the Libtard’s agenda off the stage as much as possible. He takes a stand based on his conservative principles and does not equivocate one bit.
As a DeMint admirer I gotta tell you about one hugh problem we have. There aren't enough Conservatives like him in Washington.

Jim is running for reelection this November. If you like his philosophy, consider tossing him some bucks.
Glad to be a fan of DeMint.
Impossible. I’ve heard on good authority here that Rossi is a RINO that no conservative would support. Does this make DeMint a RINO too?
I like DeMint. I like per average he’s a good conservative and is gebuine abut wanting change. I don’t agree with everything or every pick but he hasn’t given me reason to doubt his heart yet.
He picked Tarkanian, I believe that was his name, in the Nevada race over Norton. That was one of his two losses. It was a good pick. Voters chose Angle who was more conservative. Also good pick and he supports her too. I just don’t understand people around here who automatically label someone a “RINO” just because they aren’t the most conservative in the race.
I’ve drifted off topic. DeMint is one of the good guys. My prayer is he not become corrupted by D.C. and his recruits don’t do the same when they reach that place. If they can do what they were sent to maybe change can happen.
Conservatives are going to have to coalesce around a single candidate in 2012 or we’re going to end up with Mitt Romney as our nominee.
I would prefer Jim DeMint not only because he is truly conservative but because he is intellectually solid, unlike Palin, and lacks the baggage of a Gingrich or a Huckabee.

I could live with DeMint/Palin. IMHO, good combo.
South Carolina has good conservative leaders bubbling to the top locally and state-wide. Greenville County voters, for example, may rid themselves of a bunch of liberals on the county board who snuck in while patriots were napping.
Lumpy Lindsey will have a hell of a time securing the Republican banner in the 2014 primary.
He’s persona non grata around the Upstate. Next we need to banish him to New York or North Korea - his choice.
