Republicans shouldn't engage in personal attacks against President Obama or other Democrats on the campaign trail, a top House Republican said Wednesday.
Conference Chairman Mike Pence (Ind.) pressed his party to attack ideas with which they disagree, but to avoid attacking opponents during an election cycle that has been noted for its heated rhetoric.

Pence=LOSER. Sad... he was one of a few I had faith in... HAD faith in.

According to rasmussen, he is gaining support not losing it.

The Democrats need to be Alinsky’d to death repeatedly, morning to night 24 hours a day seven days a week by throngs and choruses of critics. I’m sick of this namby-pambyism. We’re at war with the people who want to destroy America. For God’s sake destroy them first. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. And annihilate them it!!!! If the GOP can’t call out the truth, they are toast.
All harry reid is doing is personally attacking... and he is leading Angle by 5.

>> Don’t need to waste ad space/time on the personal stuff.
I see your point, but I disagree. Character matters — and where ‘rats are of demonstrated low character, which is typical, this fact should be shouted from the rooftops. That kind of “reporting and advertising” is necessarily personal. So what? It’s germane to the question of fitness for office.
Of course, that presumes that the one who shouts (i.e. the R) is of higher character than the one who is being shouted about. With modern republicans, that’s not always the case, sadly.
Bunk.

I don’t see Obama gaining support.
So, IMO it makes very little difference how the GOP runs any campaign.
Hell...just being a Pubbie makes you a intolerant bigot in thousands of people's eye's. LOL!!
You have hit the nail on the head.
Why not BECOME the monsters we are portrayed as?
Hell, we got nothing to lose and to be HONEST, the rest of the country is sick to death of all this PC/race hustling crap anyway....
The media is in the Obama camp anyway and they never ever have anything good to say about conservatives who stand by their beliefs.
I say go on the attack and don’t stop.The dummycrats wouldn’t .
Republicans risk overplaying their hand if all they do is make personal attacks.
Studies have been made where people tell pollsters that they hate negative campaigning... yet that is what they respond to in huge, overwhelming numbers. dims understand this... you obviously do not.

Huh, wha... Oh, sorry. I was still thinking about post #42.
Going back to Pence’s comments.
Let Hannity and Rush get personal about all the extravagant vacations, the endless golfing, etc.
But Republican candidates should stick to the issues.
Obama ran as a reasonable centrist, and he won.
If he would have run using typical slogans he got from Democratic Underground he would have lost.
Sorry, check out segment 3 on the following link to learn how to do it. Pence is totally wrong, Obama has done some terrible things and he can be called on them. This is how it’s done correctly: http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2010/08/governor-palin-on-record-with-greta-van_17.html
Well, entrenched Republican incumbents don't want the boat to get rocked.
They've got theirs.
All Obama and his cohorts have done for the last two years is call people names, claim they are racists and play the blame game.
If the GOP goes out and does the same thing, how are they different from the children currently in control of DC?
Should they not go out and tell the people exactly what Obama and the Dems are doing, why their policies are destroying our way of life and our nation and tell people what the GOP will do differently and why they will save this nation?
Americans have had it with blame Bush, everyone is a racist, juvenile tempter tantrums coming out of the Dems. American are looking for leadership, they are begging for adult leadership. Let the Dems keep acting like children.
