Fitzgerald didn't want to bust good Ole Jesse's son.
I mentioned this on the IL Board but have you all noticed that Jesse Sr and Jr. have been MIA?
I voted against Blago both times, I admit I voted for that old hag, but I'm with Blago on this one. I hope he exposes the combine thugs for what they are.
Oh and another thing that came up on the IL Board, this is directed to DJ, what would be your opinion of me voting for Forrest Claypool over the other RAT? I liked that Claypool stood up to the most corrupt person to run Cook County besides his son, John Stroger.
I'm seriously considering voting for a democrat for the first time in my life, just because I despise the Stroger family so much. This County sucks, I got pulled over for BS, there are more Cook County Cops busting as many people as possible so that they can give more money to Todd Stroger to hand out to his relatives!
I HATE this county, atleast cigarettes are cheaper in Will County and it's only a mile away from my house....
I think the Claypool thing you might want to discuss with Billyboy and Impy. I don’t have a strong enough feel for the race to give you the best informed opinion here (heh, probably one of those times when the red herring argument does apply to a degree... you gotta be local to be tuned in). The one thing I might add is that the regular Dem need only get a plurality while the anti-Combine Indy and Republican split the opposition vote (hence, Berrios wins with, say, 40%, while the others split the remaining 60%).
I understand if you choose to vote for Claypool. Though I’m disinclined to do so myself.
I’m not aware of any polling for that race. If it was clearly a 2 way race between Claypool and Berrios I’d have to at least consider it. That probably is the situation. GOP has been pathetic in county-wide races. Comparing it to the Lieberman election is apt though I don’t know if any GOP leaders are backing Claypool as they did Liarman. I REALLY don’t want to vote for him and probably won’t.
