"Villagers set fire to straw and threatened to hit approaching cars with sticks. On Sunday night, hundreds of villagers burned tires and chanted "down with the government" in Punjab province."
I wonder why the government doesn't get right down there to help those nice people more quickly.

The Pakistani civilian government (when there has been a civilian government) has always controlled very little in Pakistan - the nation is dominated by the military, which has first claim on all resources, infrastructure and finances. And the Pakistani military has very little on it’s mind besides India - it’s certainly not going to pull too many troops and resources from it’s border with India to man relief efforts within Pakistan.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
