The irony is that the Apollo program was a poster child for the big, government-funded, top-down bureaucratic approach to public works.
There are some things that require so much money and technical expertise that it's not going to get done unless it's done by a government and a really rich government. At least two of those things are successfully executing a big war and getting off the planet.

I’m sure he meant to say the private sector should be going to the moon, what with his hatred of big government and all. Of course, there’s always the chance that Ray is just like everybody else and loves big government when it’s big his way.
