If you had to do a redo..and you just had to have the Lincoln Bible the first time..wouldn’t you want it for the redo if it was a sentimental thing.
The Lincoln Bible was a mere prop for the public swearing-in. The public swearing-in did not go well, and he wanted a “do over.” I’ll bet in his mind he was kicking that Bible into the bushes.
