Is it okay to read Hucklebery Finn anymore? (I had to read it TWICE in school: once in 8th grade and once in 11th grade.)

Nor is it okay to read The Nigger of the Narcissus by Joseph Conrad nor the brilliant short story by Flannery O'Connor, The Artifical Nigger.

Probably best to stop reading the classics. Period. For the children, ya know...

I read it in highschool and once after.

Now teachers take a marker or pen and cross out “objectionable” words.
