Before Prohibition was repealed, organized crime was engaging in the same kind of behavior as now: assassinating each other's members, destroying or disrupting distillation and distribution, bribing law enforcement to look the other way... the list is endless.

Once Prohibition was repealed, that all went away. The homicide rate was cut in half in a few years. Legitimate manufacturers weren't fighting with each other -- they were focused on making and distributing a quality product.

If the drug lords tried to come over the border from Mexico to interfere, they would get a lot more than they bargained for.

Enough already. This is not the prohibition era, the Mexican Drug gangs are already here in force. They occupy and control the federal lands 80 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona.Thats why the federal parks people prevent members of the public from going there. They have major lines of supply of drugs , and ordinance which extends from there through a corridor into Mexico. Obama does not want them interfered with, which is why he went to court to prevent the Government of Arizona from enforcing federal law. He wants them supplied, armed and dangerous. And they are. Why?

And they do exactly what they want, in the manner and style as revealed in the El Blog Del Narco. Now if you can’t see that is what we are dealing with on the ground, I have nothing more I can possibly say to you. Any socio economic changes or solutons you desribe are predicated on securing the border and getting rid of the drug warlords and their soldiers. So whats your real point?

Its beyond wool gathering to think that legalizing drugs will cause them to disappear, when the entire government of Mexico, and the executive branch of our own government can’t even interdict their movements into our country across what should not be an open border. Why not?We have the resources? Who is fooling who? Too many in the Dem party benefit from the status quo, even now to interfere ,and you can wave your flag all you want at them. Good luck.

You could legalize every drug in existence, produce it, and market it, and the shooting , torture and executions would still go on.Its not about product, its about power. And now that the warlords have it, nothing will keep them from execising it except force majeur. Any sense of humanity and decency demands that it be stopped. And I take it now that you would not do anything except legalize drugs and ruin America as China was during its Opium dissolution.

Go try to collect scalps elsewhere, you will not have mine.I am not at all open to leftist liberalism of any kind on the issue.Thats what has created so much suffering in Mexico in the first place, and its on its way here. I intend to do what I can to prevent it. You just want to out sell it, and the human cost would be unbearable, just another socialist manipulative plan IMHO.

Go over to Phoenix , turn left and drive 80 miles South, go there and sell your plan, and take a few whacks across your back with a two by four. Maybe that will enlighten you if the vids on the El blog de Narco cannot.
