It’s the Combine that’s the problem in IL. People of ethics and conscience can’t even get control of the state GOP because the Combine controls it. Those are the types of headlines we got in Maine when "Republican" Olympia Snowe won, and in California when "Republican" Arnold Schwarzenegger won.
And what exactly did those "wins" accomplish for us, aside from giving Republicans a brief psychological boost on election night? We've been screwed by "our" candidates ever since the moment those people took office. The only thing Olympia Snowe has done for us is make it easier for Clinton and Obama to score legislative 'wins' by giving them "bipartisan" support. The only thing Arnold accomplished in California was completely destroying the state and passing more big government socialism than Gray Davis ever dreamed of.
Just because you felt "good" about the headlines on election night, doesn't mean you moved about this country in right direction. The "Republicans" that won those races did more damage than the RATs they replaced, as will be the case when Mark Kirk replaces Roland Burris.
Allowing socialists to infiltrate the GOP for decades and enact the Dem's agenda for them -- simply so you have an (empty) morale victory for one day -- is the height of short sightedness and tunnel vision.
