Driving While Fat' (DWF) increases the risk of automobile accidents and is taking a heavy toll on our nation's oil stockpiles as well, according to government reports. It's just another reason for nanny state bureaucrats to force plump Americans to slim down in the name of defeating the so-called obesity 'epidemic.'
"Obesity has caused more people to buy larger vehicles, which increases gasoline consumption in the U.S. and fuel consumption increases with more weight in cars either from people or cargo," warns ConsumerReports.org. "One other result of the obesity problem is the increase risk of crashes as noted in a recent study and that is also due to the fact that obese drivers are less likely to buckle up because seat belts may not fit properly."
Read the rest of the article and be sure to shed those excess pounds so when the fat police pull you over, you don't get nailed with a ticket for DWF.
“Liberalism is a (degenerative) mental disorder”
Insanity has now been officially institutionalized by the CommieCrates!
Pray for Our Republic.
I must have missed the enumerated power in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution that grants Congress the power to regulate driving.
Yet we have to pay to ferry Moochelle and 40 of her closest friends all over creation...
More gas is wasted when bureaucrats open their mouths and utter such nonsense!
How do they steer?
1. The weight of the car isn't a big factor in mileage for highway driving. Wind resistance is far more important — it increases with the square of the speed. An aerodynamic vehicle, with fat passengers, will get better mileage than a boxy wind pusher, with anorexic passengers.
2. The total vehicle weight is an important factor for stop-and-go city driving. However, that's where hybrids or EVs are supposed to shine. The extra energy it takes to accelerate a fat body, is recouped through regenerative braking.
3. Proper tire inflation (according to the gross vehicle weight), would reduce most of the increased rolling resistance that's due to the extra passenger weight. You'd think Democrats would know this, after Obama made such a big deal about it, during the election. Regardless, rolling resistance is a tiny fraction of the total energy use. Wind resistance is most important at highway speeds; and overcoming inertia (accelerating & decelerating) is most important in city driving.
I blame liberal politicians for wasting all of our money and getting absolutely nothing for it but a mountain of debt and a bunch of people who believe they are entitled to other peoples’ earned money.
what if I weighed 300 pounds, but only kept 10 gallons or less in fuel in my Suburban..
would it work out ok then?
Then again, what do I care, I don’t weight 300 pounds, and I don’t have the money to put more than 10 gallons in the truck anyways ;)
Of course it is bogus. But bogus does not let the Nannystate micromanage our lives.
Only thing I’ve noticed is that really big fat people in small cars don’t seem to drive very well and don’t seem to take very good care of their cars. No idea why.
Hah Hah.
I checked for the humor key word before my mind had a chance to be responsive.
“Traffic cops will soon be measuring motorists’ BMI and cholesterol levels if the nanny state gets its way.”
LOL!
Plus all of the KFC grease causes the loss of steering wheel control.
ROTFL!!! Thanks for that one! Looks like that’s der Fuhrer’s new VoltsWagon.
