House Democrats on Tuesday pushed through a $26 billion jobs bill to protect 300,000 teachers and other nonfederal government workers from election-year layoffs.
The bill would be paid for mainly by closing a tax loophole used by multinational corporations and reducing food stamp benefits for the poor. It passed mainly along party lines by a vote of 247-161.

Is that anything like the country saying: He couldn't pour piss out of a boot with the instrcutions on the heel?
Where in the Constitution...........
What's a another few billion down the toilet? </sarcasm>

What, you can’t see the green shoots maturing all around you?!?
How about bailouts for software developers whose jobs got shipped offshore thanks to clinton’s H1-b & L3 programs???
Does the average non reading food stamp person know they are getting a cut? And when the time rolls around do you really thing they will be cut?

Women, minorities, and Bill Clinton's niece most affected....
And dogs.
And rainbows.
Can anyone find the roll call? Any republicans vote for this?
I wonder if Christie is going to take this money in NJ?
Hope not.
Did Chet Edwards in Texas vote for this?
Bailouts? While probably a good thing, I did not know a large group of teachers had been arrested.
26B at 50K a head works out to about 560K teachers...I hope they attacted somekind of limitation stating the money must go to TEACHING teachers, not some group of fat ass liberal administrators.
I guess there aren't already enough reasons for corporations to do or increase their US business so congress decided we needed more. China and India will sure love it.
