QUOTE:Maddow: ..Scaring white people is good politics on the Conservative side of the spectrum, and it always has been.

Quote:1:38...the idea is your sort of rile up the white base to be afraid of an other to be afraid
of scary immigrants or scary black people (agesticulating wildly as if counting items off a list )
somebody coming to take what is white people's "rightful property "

Letterman:There's a guy who apparently takes interviews, press conferences and edits them and cobbles them together so they give the exact opposite impression of what was being expressed. What's the guys name?
Maddow:Breitbart Andrew Breitbart.
0:35 ….he can just make up any old thing he wants and then somebody, I think, in this case it was Fox gets a hold of it and reports it as factual as factual as factual and in this case it was racism in the US Department of Agriculture

...how much... Goood Lord.... here’s a woman as it turnns out doing the right thing, how much time, energy was wasted because this ..words were bleeped out but it seems to be by "as*hole f**king around.

Maddow:Yup. (head bobbing excitedly)

1:19 Letterman:and now how can that go on the people gleefully showing it agaiin and again as though it were fact what responsibility do they bear?

1:29 Maddow:They, I think, bear a lot of responsibilty.

1:38 Maddow:scaring white people is good politics on the conservative side of the spectrum and it always has been.

Wouldn’t it be fun if Arizona would drive illegals to celebrity homes and give them ladders to climb over the fences?

Rachel waxes positively rhapsodic about news that Proposition 8 was overturned. She goes on a veritable witch-hunt,in the way they sought out Nazi collaborators in post-WW2 Europe. She unabashedly goes about bashing the anti-gay forces that drops all pretenses of even the most infintesimal semblance of professional conduct.

There ya go. Put a bunch of kiosks right at the border with maps to the homes of leftist kooks like Letterman. :)

They are the ones afraid. The more extreme their rhetoric the deeper the fear.

I look forward to further ratings erosion for Letterman. I never watch him, and the above is the main reason why. (Another reason: he’s just not that funny any more.)

To believe that conservatives only denounce Obama because of his “color” and not his politics is to engage in the wildest flights of irrationality that is possible. In short, they would have us believe if Dennis Kucinich or Bernie Sanders, the pols who best exemplify the Obama socialist outlook, were president, we conservatives would be loving their actions. These people are certifiably crazy.

No kidding - someone needs to ask Dave why he makes SOOOO much more money per year than the janitors at CBS? Doesn’t he think they work as hard (if not harder) as he does? I like Mr. Lib to explain that one.

The Marxist have won. White conservatives tap dance every time race is mentioned or thrown out. They run around in circles proving to the Left just how non racist they are.

Hell nine white people were just murdered because they were white and the Left effectively had many/most whites acting like they probably deserved it. The story has already effectively disappeared.

Conservatism, traditionalism and the American Republic is dead.

I always put the word "progressive" in quotes since there is nothing progressive about a backwards leftist agenda.

No, and like all these other comedians who should’ve stuck to just comedy but have gone (liberal) political - stewart, maher, franken et al - he’s gotten vicious and mean. (Stewart not so much, he’s just really snarky).

I still like Leno, though. He’s a fair comedian and, I think, a nice human being. His ratings versus the other late-night guys reflect it, too.

Oh, and another notable exception is Craig Ferguson. He loves this country and makes no bones about it. If you can find a clip online of his taking the oath and becoming a citizen (he did a segment on his show about it a year or two ago), watch it. Very moving.

“I still like Leno,”

Is he still telling Bush/Cheney jokes?

Leno is a coward and he isn’t funny.

Right! Give 'em a pass! Mock folks who want to hold them accountable!

Okay - what should we do? Stop watching their shows? No one's watching now.

That's the problem: our overlords ARE being given a pass.

435 House seats up this Nov. 88-91 of those seats are "In Play". That's 20%.

There is a reason Maddow and Letterman are yucking it up. Who cares if they're making you mad? There is nothing you can do to them.

It looks like you missed the pressure put on Letterman to apologize to Palin for his remarks about her daughter.

These folks can be mocked and they can be held accountable. In rare instances they can even be embarrassed.

Phlegmatic attitudes like yours accomplish nothing. Cynicism is for the birds. Being human is about striving...you give up when you die, and vice versa.

Okay - what do you suggest we do?

Olberman still has a show. The Daily Show isn't looking down being cancelled. Letterman is still on. Maddow is still moving.

Nancy Pelosi will be back next year. Her seat is "safe". So is Barney Frank's. So are most of the corrupt.

All this with the Tea Parties going on.

There is a reason they are smiling: there is NOTHING you can do to them. Nothing.

Have you seen John McCain's primary numbers? In Arizona - the Poster boy for the Amnesty movement is LEADING his opponent. Even with the SB1070 fight. How do you explain that? There is a reason John doesn't care about the opinion of the people of Arizona. Because he can do anything he wants and get re-elected.

Oh, you're going to pressure them in to making a half hearted, insincere apology? Wow. They're really feeling the heat now. And tomorrow they'll make a bunch more insane statements because people like you will get mad and watch their show, driving up their abyssmal ratings. So not only are they mocking you, they're playing you.

I agree that something needs to be done. But it won't be. The people who rule us are so insulted. They've spent many, many years rigging the game in their favor. If people who cared really wanted to do something, you should have done it 20-30-40 years ago. But no, life was good and people didn't care. So now we've got what you're looking at right now. And it's not going to change.

Now - if these were a pair of conservatives, they'd be off TV the next day.

Thus is life in 2010 Obamaland.

“Is he still telling Bush/Cheney jokes?”

I’m sure he is, don’t watch him terribly often. But he also tells Obama & co. jokes. That’s the thing - a good comedian who’s just about the comedy (as I believe Leno to be) pokes fun at all public figures. I understand and can handle an equal opportunity comic. The other guys I mentioned (Letterman, Maher, Franken, etc.) aren’t - they only go after conservatives, always. AND they’re vicious and hateful about it. I never see Leno’s humor as being that way.

Plus, and this has been my hunch for quite awhile now, both from his show and interviews he’s done, I think he leans conservative in real life.

This is imbecilic commentary. No offense.

Pelosi cam be denied her Speakership if conservatives are energized to vote in their House races...and by all indications they are. Frank can be denied his chairmanship and leadership. Your negativity isn't sucking anyone's energy. It's just sucking.

Two weeks ago you could have just as easily said, "Charlie Rangel will be back next year. His seat is safe. So is Maxine Waters'. There is a reason they are smiling: there is NOTHING you can do to them. Nothing."

It's a stupid point of view. Again, no offense. Whine on.

Progressive is the code word for the left as they wish others to think they are going forward when in fact they go backwards.

...and in 2012, 2014 or whenever the Dems recapture the House guess who'll be right back in charge? :)

Two weeks ago you could have just as easily said, "Charlie Rangel will be back next year. His seat is safe. So is Maxine Waters'.

They haven't been voted out yet. And their ethics trial hasn't started yet - so neither has the "it's racist" media spin.

That said - even if they are voted out, they'll be replaced by someone just as bad. Look at the Dem poised to take Chris Dodd's seat.

I think your focus is very limited.
