Waters: Race Is Element in Ethics Charges
The national Democratic Party is spending $50 million this year to mobilize the so-called Obama surge voters of 2008 which means, in part, turning out huge numbers of African-American voters in November.
The effort probably wasnt helped today when U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters took to the airwaves of black radio stations across the country to say that the House ethics charges being brought against her are the unjust result of her advocacy for black Americans.
Moreover, the California Democrat seemed to suggest that her ethics hearings, likely to come in September in the leadup to the elections, could turn on race.
House investigators have accused her of seeking federal help for a bank where her husband served on the board. Waters says she was standing up for black-owned banks in general and is now being attacked for it.
Appearing on the Rev. Al Sharptons show, Keepin It Real, Waters said it was time to stand up and be proud of the fact that were representing our people, were representing our issues, and were not taking a back seat because somehow somebody believes that every time we move to be an advocate were doing something wrong.
She concluded: This is the time to take it on.

Don’t bight! Her claiming racism is as significant as my being bald. Ignore the race baiter.
No Dear, it’s your support of Hillary in the 2008 Primary.
Ask Charlie.....
Shuck you Firley!!
They’re trying to start race riots.
As Deliah told Sampson when she cut his hair
...it won’t be long now!!
Waters is a Marxist/racist pig!
I think she is right (”race” is part of the issue concerning her ethics charges), but not in the manner that she believes it to be.
Like Charlie Rangel, she has an extreme sense of arrogant entitlement about herself, as if the means justifies the ends simply because she wants to present the ends she seeks as noble.
How can she have such a self-serving view, self-serving sense of privilege about herself, if it was never granted to her, over the years, by her peers in Congress in the first place?
Were she and Rangel both victims of reverse discrimination, where, over many years, their ethical slights were intentionally ignored, by their peers, so their peers could avoid appearing to offend them, because of their race?
They certainly display all the inappropriate sense of arrogance and victim-hood about their ethics problems that someone with whom such issues were always allowed to be forgiven in the past would quite naturally now display, when their peers finally quit letting them slide.
I was wondering how long it would take...the problem is, the race card is so overplayed it’s worn out.
Race is her only defense. (Which makes it even more racist).
Drop the “African-American” nomenclature already. The only connection most “African-Americans” have with Africa is through their ancestry. The fact that they have been “mongrelized” (Obama terminology) makes the case for African “roots” even weaker.
It’s all RAAAAAAAAAAAAAACISM all the time from Maxine.
Go ahead Maxine - drop a dime on the white devils. No reason for them to get a free pass.
This circus could maybe go all the way to November.
Loosely translated...”I be guilty as hell, so I’s gonna play da race card on dem cracka’s!”
She can’t possibly mean that some races have more ethics problems than others can she???
Now now, I know the original lyrics.....
Like the boy who cried wolf. Eventually no one listens
Hmmmm....
That’s just a racist statistic published by a racist criminal justice system. /s
It’s not our fault that Maxine Waters (or any person of color) committed crimes or committed ethical breaches while being black. Nor does their color make them commit crimes or ethical breaches.
They are simply corrupt humans regardless of color. It is their world view, their selfishness and their lack of character that leads them to behave badly.
Period.
Doh!
Dang, I never saw that one coming
