It seems like Monty Python was full of some unpleasant people particularly Cleese and Eric Idle. I think Palin, Gilliam and Terry Jones (the welshman) were pretty happy go lucky.
Eric Idle sued the fellow he did the Rutles with Neil Innes. Innes wrote all the music and was a pretty decent chap. Idle pretty much brought Innes to financial ruin. I think the only thing that saved Innes was he owned the rights to the music and Idle needed it for the Broadway show. Interestingly - all these events were later wiped from the internet.

I love Monty Python. The great hedge hog. The pet shop, pining for the fjords, Spam, etc. Brilliant! But Cleese at least he used to smile! Creative folks being what they are I'm not surprised to hear that they were awful human beings. I don't really know the inside baseball though. Suffice it to say, Cleese could sell his riff on American Football with a smile, and I would laugh along with him. But you in that video it wasn't collaborative fun, it was a rant.
