Can presidential dignity survive a stint on a couch where so many of the undignified hello, Snooki have sat before?
It may not be the most-hyped event on American TV that would be the return of said Snooki and her spray-tanned Jersey Shore sidekicks on MTV but Barack Obamas Thursday appearance on The View may well be the most controversial.
I think the President of the United States has to go on serious shows, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, a Democrat, scoffed when he heard of the popularity-challenged POTUSs latest political gambit. I wouldnt put him on Jerry Springer either.
Barbara, Whoopi, Joy, Elizabeth and Sherri not to mention their millions of devotees watching at home and (lets face it) the office would take exception, of course, with Mr. Rendells definition of serious.
And maybe only those blinded by their Beltway biases would consider it unpresidential, in 2010, for the commander-in-chief to chat it up with interviewers more accustomed to pitching softballs about wardrobes and workouts than probing the national security breaches of WikiLeaks.
Even so, this is not presidential business as usual. Barbara Walters, who is interrupting her convalescence from open heart surgery to steer the ship on Thursdays show, insisted it is the first time in history a sitting United States president has visited a daytime talk show.
In 2004, George W. Bush did Dr. Phil. But that was strictly to talk about parenthood. The topics on The View are, to say the least, more varied.
People have busy lives and its best to go where they are, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs offered when a mischievous reporter wondered whether Mr. Obama was going on The View to talk about Afghanistan.

I think he’s scared of a particular girl.... LOL!
Break out the plastic seat covers...
I think he is going to alienate a great many mothers with scouts at the Jamboree. Way to go KOTUS (Kenyan of the United States)!
the whole thing about going on The View is just creepy and tacky and weird all at the same time, it’s very ick.
He doesn’t go where he knows he’s not liked. Arlington National Cemetery ceremonies, Boy Scouts.. Ya know, all things AMERICAN.
He's speaking to the Urban League this morning. His circle is shrinking to La Raza, the NAACP, Urban League and his billionaire donors (he was trolling for money at the home of a Vogue editor last night).
That list represents people the that would vote for him if he killed and ate a kitten on national TV. Not a very good Electoral College result, I would think.
Was Obama On The Down-Low?
Heres something for you ponder, as more and more comes out about Tiger Woods, including, at last report, the possibility that one of his many lovers has photographs of him naked that shes selling to Playgirl (move over Levi Johnston, and his teensy weiner!).
Apparently, “everyone” knew about Tiger Woods affairs and his behavior off the course, but the MSM narrative was that Woods “is a hero” and the Woods brand was something the MSM protected at all costs — refusing to write negative stories about him, or tell the truth about any of his shennanigans. “Everyone” knew Woods was up to the things he got up to, but the MSM would not talk about it.
Here in Chicago, depending on what community youre in, “everyone” knows things about Dr. Utopia too. Our current president, back when he was a “community organizer” for ACORN, a state senator, and an adjunct law professor, was indiscrete and up to all sorts of shennanigans by all accounts. He not only sat in the pews at Trinity United Church gleefully taking in all the hatred and paranoid delusions of Jeremiah Wright, but like many black men at Trinity hed then find somewhere up north to “unwind” when fiery sermons couldnt quench the same thirsts as, say, nights spent at the baths. In Chicago, guys in their late 40s and early 50s, who admit they used to go to bathhouses, love talking about a skinny black guy with big ears who said he was a “state rep”, whenever hed go to Mans Country to be serviced by white men there.
Were in our 30s here and have never set foot in Mans Country. But, go to Sidetracks on Showtunes nights, Little Jims or Northend on Halsted, or the Lucky Horseshoe at Belmont and talk to guys whove lived the scene, been there, done that, and will admit to being lifelong fans of Mans Country.
Theyve got stories to tell, believe us.
I’ve tried to stay away from this stuff. It’s been around for a couple of years. But this report comes from a Hillary Clinton-focused site, and she’s close to the homosexual community.

LOL - are you serious?
In fairness to our Brothers on the other side, the connection to Wright’s antics and “bath houses” seems a bit dubious.
“Isn’t that azure uniform divine?”
Do you think they will have time to exchange make-up tips?
Obama knows he is now below 50% with FEMALES. He was at 56% in 2008 with women voters. I won’t claim that Palin has co-opted them all but PPP came out with a poll this month showing Palin leading Obama 47-44 among FEMALE voters. That news I think woke the WH up.
Can’t wait for the pictures of Obama bowing to Joy Behar.
Makes sense. The more people who can sit home collecting unemployment checks and watching The View...
real men don’t do that with their knees like the bamster is doing in this pic. is his body language socially immature?
he’s not a REAL man
Every time I see a picture of the two of them together, I am reminded of an old Playboy/Penthouse cartoon.
A man, on his knees before his wife begging "Please darling! May I be the dominant one tonight?"
As my daughter would say, Ewwwwwwwww.....
imho he’s on the down-low
on the cartoon? ahahahahaaaaa good one!
